RE: 'JUNG_E' by Yeon Sang-ho Review: An attempt at the cyberpunk genre

I'm tempted to watch this movie and that's because I recently read a short review where they justly criticized the director of Train to Busan and I didn't know about him directing this new Netflix film.

I haven't seen the trailer, nor have I delved into the synopsis, but I was amused that when I saw the poster he used as a cover in his publication it immediately made me look like Ghost in the Shell and then I read his definition of this South Korean film; well, maybe these days I'll see it.

He's definitely not a bad director. I think he knows what he's doing, but I think it's unfortunate that his success came incredibly quickly from one film to which only resulted in studios wanting that same success but with more constraints and commercialised appeal. I actually like the simplicity of Psychokinesis, and I think that's a good example of the potential he has when given a relatively decent budget but without the western interests.
