The first time I saw the poster of the movie “FREE GUY” I thought it was a new video game and I was eager to try it out untill I watched the trailer, a must see, I said to myself.
Free guy tells the story of a bank teller named Guy -Ryan Reynolds, an NPC ( Non-Player Character) in a successful open world video game called ‘Free City’. He discovers he is only a background character in the video game after meeting the Molotov girl - Jodie comer. His life is basically a repetition, he wears the same outfit every day, orders the same type of coffee, goes to work in the same bank that gets robbed multiple times by the actual players of the game.
Everything looks awesome for Guy and his best pal - Lil Rel Howery as they live their best lives. Their world is divided into their pairs as well as the “people with sunglasses”, who are the avatars of players. Guy meets this captivating woman ‘Molotov girl’ and unfortunately breaks his pattern as he becomes more interested in her and where she might be going, he gets his hands on a pair of sunglasses that reveals what the actual players see in this world, including missions, medkits and other things that are familiar to modern gamers.
Back in the real world, Molotov girl happens to be a programmer named Millie who worked with another tech genius, Keys - Joey Keery on developing a virtual game that would replicate the actual world. Millie was a player in Free City because she was trying to find evidence that the game’s egocentric publisher named Antwan - Taika Watiti stole her code and deformed it into Free City. Millie and Keys decided to form an alliance to break ‘Free City’ apart from the inside.
Guy never chooses violence as he chooses only positive missions in the game and his refusal to raise his rank through violence led him into becoming an Internet Sensation as the world tries to figure out who this mysterious gamer might be, without realizing that he is the most remarkable artificial intelligence in history. As Millie and Keys discover what they had created, they had to do something about it and of course with the help of Guy and other Non playable characters, they did not only save true advancements from bash capitalism but they got credit for their work .

It’s a cheerful and likable movie with positive vibes and a lot of giggles. It’s rated 13 and up, also contains giant size video game type of violence with lots of shootings, guns, explosions, car chase, crashes and falling with a touch of romance.
