[ESP-ENG] Resumen y opinión de la película "El Fundador" (Basada en hechos reales)

Ray Kroc es un vendedor de batidoras un tanto fracasado, quien en busca de clientes pasa sus días promocionando su producto sin tener éxito, hasta que un día recibe un pedido por 8 batidoras por lo cual asombrado e incrédulo decide viajar hasta el lugar donde se encontraba el establecimiento de comida para constatar realmente el pedido.

Al llegar, observa el lugar de comida rápida más popular que sus ojos hayan visto llamado McDonald's; frente a él estaba una larga fila de personas haciendo su orden, para ello debían acercarse a una ventanilla y elegir dentro de un menú ajustado, ya que solo ofrecen hamburguesas, papas fritas y gaseosas. Cuando le entregan su orden no entiende nada, pues se lo entregaron en una bolsa y él esperaba un tradicional plato y cubiertos.

Aún sorprendido toma asiento en una banca y come su hamburguesa, en ese momento se encuentra con uno de los hermanos McDonald el cual lo invita a un recorrido por la cocina para que conozca el funcionamiento del sistema. Al finalizar el recorrido Kroc los invita a cenar y ellos acceden, ahí los hermanos muy sinceramente le cuentan toda su historia, todos los procesos que realizaron para poder conseguir el sistema perfecto y más rápido, además de los intentos para que los clientes se adaptaran al cambio.

Kroc al volver a casa muy emocionado por tan grande y potencial negocio, le cuenta a su esposa quien después de estar con él entre tantos intentos fallidos no le presta atención; sin importarle aquello al día siguiente regresa con los hermanos Mac y Dick McDonald para proponerles expansión del negocio a través de "Franquicias".

Ellos con desánimo le responden que ya lo han intentado pero ha sido un fracaso, pues los socios no cumplen con el estándar de las hamburguesas McDonald, en ese mismo momento y mientras conversaban Kroc observa un cuadro donde está dibujado un establecimiento McDonald pero con algo peculiar y diferente al que tenían los hermanos, y eran nada más y nada menos que dos grandes arcos dorados, uno a cada lado (todo creado por Dick McDonald); sin duda por la expresión de su rostro quedó aún más enganchado y convencido que debían expandirse para lograr un éxito rotundo.

Luego de tanto insistir, los hermanos McDonald acceden a poner a Kroc a cargo del funcionamiento y creación de las nuevas franquicias, para ello firmaron un contrato donde establece que los hermanos McDonald son los únicos que pueden realizar cambios en el estándar del lugar.

Es así como comienza la faena de Kroc en busca de financiamiento para poner en marca tan poderoso proyecto, hipoteca su casa, busca empresarios con gran capital para convertirlos en socios y así, en poco tiempo da marcha a algunas franquicias dentro de Estados Unidos.

Pasado poco tiempo y al visitar los establecimientos para verificar su buen funcionamiento se da cuenta que ocurre lo que los hermanos McDonald le habían advertido; aquellos empresarios no continuaron con el estándar McDonald y empiezan a incluir otros alimentos dentro del menú, por lo que algo enfadado decide buscar en otro lugar a empresarios más comprometidos, visionarios, capaces de seguir reglas y con ganas de salir adelante.

Fue entonces cuando todo empezó a funcionar como debía, logrando la estandarización total de la marca McDonald's, además la fama de Kroc empezó a notarse y ya no era necesario que él buscara empresarios pues estos llegaban a él, sin embargo los números no daban buenos resultados, no había logrado pagar la hipoteca y estaba en cero, por lo que en medio de este inconveniente conoció a un hombre que le recomendó comprar los terrenos donde se ubicaran las franquicias, para así alquilarlo y generar dinero suficiente.

Cuando comienza a llevar a cabo esta idea todo a nivel económico mejora, tanto así que crea la corporación McDonald's. Los hermanos Mac y Dick al enterarse se enfadan y le piden que no continúe con todo aquello, incluso el hermano Dick McDonald es llevado al hospital por un ataque mientras conversaba con Kroc.

Kroc siendo muy astuto y con una fortuna que iba en formación decide visitar a los hermanos al hospital y es cuando les entrega un cheque en blanco de la corporación, dándoles a entender que les compra todos los derechos del estándar McDonald's y para dar fin a su contrato, a lo que los hermanos después de pensarlo y sin más salida acceden, pidiéndole a cambio la cantidad de un millón trescientos cuarenta y cinco mil dólares (1.345.000$) cada uno y el 1% de todas las ganancias, sin embargo ese 1% Kroc no lo acepta.

Tiempo después Kroc continúa con su labor y los hermanos McDonald ya no pueden utilizar siquiera el nombre McDonald's en su negocio, además y por si fuera poco Kroc abre una franquicia justo al frente de ellos demostrándoles así, que McDonald's es el mejor establecimiento de comida rápida.

Su fama se extendió rápidamente por todo el país y pues como ahora sabemos también sucedió a nivel mundial.

Mi Opinión

El fundador me parece una película muy interesante a la cual debemos prestar mucha atención para comprenderla y adentrarnos en ella, viviendo de alguna forma la experiencia de los personajes. Siendo una historia basada en hechos reales y más aún en el gran imperio de comida rápida McDonald's no dudé en verla, desconocía por completo la historia detrás de tan exitoso proyecto y en realidad quedé sorprendida por conocer como surgió la idea principal y más aún de ver como un hombre común pero con muchas ganas de salir adelante se apropia de esa idea y triunfa.

Me parece bien el hecho de que Kroc explotara todo el potencial que tenía el sistema de comida rápida creada por los hermanos McDonald, la verdad era necesario y sin él quizás hoy todo sería diferente en ese aspecto. Lo único que me disgusta de la película y que no me consta que haya sucedido en la vida real es que Kroc pusiera una franquicia de McDonald's justo al frente del negocio de los hermanos, llevándolos así por completo a la quiebra.

Por supuesto recomiendo esta película porque es ingeniosa, entretenida y lo que más destaca es la perseverancia y compromiso que adoptó el señor Kroc para aprovechar la oportunidad que se le presentó; sería como una forma de motivarnos a lograr lo que deseamos y más que eso actuar por alcanzarlo a pesar de las dificultades o las personas negativas que nos rodean.

Ray Kroc is a somewhat unsuccessful blender salesman, who in search of customers spends his days promoting his product without success, until one day he receives an order for 8 blenders for which amazed and incredulous decides to travel to the place where the food establishment was located to actually verify the order.

When he arrived, he saw the most popular fast food place he had ever seen called McDonald's; in front of him there was a long line of people placing their order, they had to approach a counter and choose from a narrow menu, since they only offered hamburgers, french fries and sodas. When they gave him his order he did not understand anything, since they gave it to him in a bag and he was expecting a traditional plate and cutlery.

Still surprised, he takes a seat on a bench and eats his hamburger, at which point he meets one of the McDonald brothers who invites him on a tour of the kitchen to learn how the system works. At the end of the tour Kroc invites them to dinner and they agree, there the brothers very sincerely tell him their whole story, all the processes they performed to achieve the perfect and faster system, in addition to attempts to make customers adapt to change.

Kroc when returning home very excited by such a great and potential business, tells his wife who after being with him between so many failed attempts does not pay attention to him; without caring about that the next day he returns with the brothers Mac and Dick McDonald to propose expansion of the business through "Franchises".

They with discouragement respond that they have already tried but it has been a failure, because the partners do not meet the standard of McDonald hamburgers, at that moment and while talking Kroc observes a picture where a McDonald establishment is drawn but with something peculiar and different from what the brothers had, and were nothing more and nothing less than two large golden arches, one on each side (all created by Dick McDonald); no doubt by the look on his face was even more hooked and convinced that they should expand to achieve a resounding success.

After so much insistence, the McDonald brothers agreed to put Kroc in charge of the operation and creation of the new franchises, for this they signed a contract which states that the McDonald brothers are the only ones who can make changes in the standard of the place.

This is how Kroc's work began in search of financing to launch such a powerful project, he mortgaged his house, looked for businessmen with large capital to turn them into partners and thus, in a short time he started up some franchises in the United States.

After a short time and visiting the establishments to verify their good operation, he realized that what the McDonald brothers had warned him about was happening; those entrepreneurs did not continue with the McDonald standard and began to include other foods on the menu, so he decided to look elsewhere for more committed entrepreneurs, visionaries, capable of following rules and with the desire to move forward.

It was then when everything began to work as it should, achieving the total standardization of the McDonald's brand, also the fame of Kroc began to be noticed and it was no longer necessary for him to look for entrepreneurs because they came to him, however the numbers did not give good results, he had not managed to pay the mortgage and was at zero, so in the middle of this inconvenience he met a man who recommended him to buy the land where the franchises would be located, in order to rent it and generate enough money.

When he began to carry out this idea everything at an economic level improved, so much so that he created the McDonald's corporation. When the brothers Mac and Dick found out, they got angry and asked him not to continue with all that, even brother Dick McDonald was taken to the hospital for a seizure while talking to Kroc.

Kroc being very astute and with a fortune that was in formation decides to visit the brothers to the hospital and is when he gives them a blank check from the corporation, giving them to understand that he buys all the rights of the McDonald's standard and to end their contract, to which the brothers after thinking about it and without more exit agree, asking in return the amount of one million three hundred and forty-five thousand dollars ($1,345,000) each and 1% of all profits, however that 1% Kroc does not accept it.

Some time later Kroc continues with his work and the McDonald brothers can no longer even use the name McDonald's in their business, in addition and as if that were not enough Kroc opens a franchise right in front of them thus demonstrating that McDonald's is the best fast food establishment.

His fame quickly spread throughout the country and as we now know it also happened worldwide.

My Opinion

The Founder seems to me a very interesting film to which we must pay close attention to understand and get into it, living somehow the experience of the characters. Being a story based on real events and even more in the great fast food empire McDonald's I did not hesitate to see it, I was completely unaware of the story behind such a successful project and actually I was surprised to learn how the main idea came up and even more to see how a common man but with a lot of desire to get ahead takes ownership of that idea and succeeds.

I think it is good that Kroc exploited all the potential that the fast food system created by the McDonald brothers had, it was really necessary and without him perhaps today everything would be different in that aspect. The only thing that I dislike about the movie and that I don't know that it happened in real life is that Kroc put a McDonald's franchise right in front of the brothers' business, thus completely bankrupting them.

Of course I recommend this movie because it is witty, entertaining and what stands out the most is the perseverance and commitment that Mr. Kroc adopted to take advantage of the opportunity that was presented to him; it would be like a way to motivate us to achieve what we want and more than that act to achieve it despite the difficulties or the negative people around us.
