¿Cómo están el día de hoy? Yo estoy muy feliz de estar otra vez por aquí luego de mucho tiempo sin publicar nada. Para esta ocasión quería volver a la comunidad con un pequeño post sobre mi opinión sobre una serie que ya vi hace tiempo, la cual se llama Ratched, y está en netflix. Sin dar mucho spoiler, quiero comentar que me ha parecido y las razones por las cuales la recomiendo.

For this occasion I wanted to return to the community with a little post about my opinion about a series that I watched some time ago, which is called Ratched, and it's on netflix. Without giving too much spoiler, I want to comment what I thought of it and the reasons why I recommend it.

To begin with, Ratched is a nurse who works in a big hospital in the 50's, where we get to see how she is working in here, how they torture her patients thinking they were being cured, and we also get to know her real reason why she is there. I really don't want to give spoilers, but I do want to talk about what I think.

I put this series on in the background while I was doing some other things, but I always tried to give it as much attention as I could. The first thing I want to talk about is the lead actress, Sarah Paulson, who plays Nurse Ratched.

A good character can't exist, if the actress behind it doesn't get into her skin, Sarah understands that a lot, and in this series she did a totally amazing role, where she put show her acting skills for thrillers and shocking moments. She always stood her ground with her character, managing to express everything her character is, in an amazing way.
Además de esto, me parece importante hablar cómo anteriormente se creían que algunas enfermedades se podían curar con métodos arcaicos. Un buen ejemplo de esto es que dentro de este hospital practicaban la lobotomía como santo remedio, el cual dejó a muchísimas personas muertas o con severos fallos mentales. Aquí demuestran muy gráficamente cómo se realizaba una lobotomía en la época, lo que me dejó un poco asqueada pero intrigada por la naturalidad de las persona al observar tal procedimiento. Personalmente, he investigado bastante la lobotomía, y con qué fin buscaban hacerla. Gracias a Dios que vivimos en una época más avanzada en la cual no te confunden con una enferma mental por ser una persona irritante o enojona.
In addition to this, I think it is important to talk about how in the past it was believed that some diseases could be cured with archaic methods. A good example of this is that within this hospital they practiced lobotomy as a holy remedy, which left many people dead or with severe mental failures. Here they demonstrate very graphically how a lobotomy was performed at the time, which left me a little disgusted but intrigued by the naturalness of the person observing such a procedure. Personally, I have done quite a bit of research on lobotomy, and for what purpose they sought to do it. Thank goodness we live in a more advanced age where you are not mistaken for mentally ill for being an irritating or angry person.

I love how they managed to adapt the recording mud to make you feel all the vibe of these years and also, make you feel part of this story. If I'm not mistaken, this hospital really existed, and many of these tortures were practiced there to people with asperger's, multiple personality disorder, bipolar, among others. We also see how they sought a cure for homosexuality, through torture and burns on the skin of the patients.
Sinceramente, esta serie es sorprendente y a cualquier persona con gustos en películas de acción podría gustarle. Los actores que aquí están tienen un nivel actoral increíble, y realmente me sorprende el poco reconocimiento que la misma tiene.
Honestly, this series is amazing and anyone with a taste for action movies might like it. The actors that are here have an incredible acting level, and I'm really surprised how little recognition it gets.
