I'm pretty sure you don't get to choose your tax base and have read in multiple places that taxes need to be paid where you reside. I guess if you have a home in the UK, you could claim that it is there, but are they going to check?
I'm ok for the time-being, but things will be different if/when my country of residence changes.

I can't imagine the HMRC are going to be in a position to check anything for a year or so, while they deal with the backlog of covid related relief claims!
I'm not in a rush to change from the UK myself, the tax regime isn't too bad there, especially when you're on a low income!
All of this formal stuff is really ruining my enjoyment of moving abroad, it's such a load of bullshit!
