Tragedy strikes when fire erupts in the shelter's storage room, leading to rampant speculation and accusation among the residents. The military, overseeing the shelter's operations, determines that a team must venture to Norway for supplies. Meanwhile, the deteriorating conditions due to the sun's radiation have left food sources depleted and largely devoid of nutritional value, creating a desperate struggle for survival.

Among the shelter's inhabitants is Horst, a scientist determined to find a solution to protect lives from radiation. In an unsettling experiment, he enlists Dominic’s help to catch rats for testing, despite Zara’s protests. One fateful night finds Zara and Dominic trapped in a generator room, and to save themselves, Zara resorts to desperate measures.
