April HPUD and March Performance

It might be April Fool's Day, but it is also Hive Power Up Day and that's something I take vary seriously !

HPUD

I've "done my duty" and powered up 50 HIVE.

I'm having to be a bit careful with my liquid HIVE right now (at least until I've got a bit more fiat spare to buy more...), so it's a relatively small power up but it's still heading in the right direction. A lot of my focus at present is on growing my HBD stack, which is steadily building to the point of delivering a sensible amount of interest.

March Performance

This March was probably my best month so far in terms of Hive earnings. The key metrics were;

HP earned: 163.579 (£55.42)
HBD earned: 61.574 (£49.21) of which 27.157 HBD was interest.
LEO earned: 117.595 (£9.36)

I've put in the equivalent figures in British Pounds, but I appreciate that as prices change these will vary, so my focus is really on the actual HIVE, HBD and LEO figures.

As for what has caused this growth, as with anything crypto, it's complicated ! Everything is influenced by everything else in sometimes complex ways. But I can identify a number of factors;

  • I've been able to maintain a decent posting rate - not quite to my target of 1.5 posts a day, but I made 37 posts in March which is better than my minimum goal of 1 a day.
  • I'm continuing to curate as much as my vote power allows, and engaging along with it. The glory may be in the author rewards, but curation is the bread and butter which enables all of us to actually get those author rewards !
  • I renewed InLeo Premium - it's actually really hard to establish the exact value it delivers because it affects so many things (getting onto curation trails, LEO delegation earnings, etc), but I think it does deliver slightly more than it's cost.
  • Some increase in the price of HIVE, which may be attracting a few new users and bringing sleeping ones back to activity.
  • I made myself do a bit more in Leo Threads - it's still not an environment that's in my comfort zone (I never used Twitter), but I'm trying !

While I appreciate there are plenty of people earning significant amounts more on Hive, these numbers still make me very happy because they are part of a trend of continuous growth. It is still very much a side hustle and long-term savings plan in terms of earnings. The really important thing is that it has freed me from the shackles of toxic Web2 places like Facebook 😁

So that was how my month looked - I hope yours was as good !
