The phrase “In this life, just make money” has been shown to us in different ways and aspects of our life because the world we currently live in is a world that isn’t fair and a world that is driven by material success and financial gains and the idea of making money has gone beyond being successful and comfortable but for competition and show off.

For example, more than 70% of the youths in Nigeria have little or no interest in investing or solid plans, what they care about is accumulating wealth and showing it off to their peers that they are better and richer than them, and however, the wealth accumulated isn’t fully gotten legally. When this show-off happens, it becomes intimidating to other youths who in turn will do anything to be in that same position as others, this is how society currently functions.

Intimidating or not, one needs a drive and motivation to make money and acquire financial stability to live a comfortable lifestyle whether we believe it or not money brings a certain kind of peace and happiness but what matters is not to lose ourselves in pursuit of it. When we focus all our energy in pursuit of money or acquiring wealth, we might lose other things along the way and be pushed into another phase of problems too because the pursuit of wealth legally or illegally can take a toll on our personal lives be it good or bad.

We can either become obsessed and start doing things that we aren’t supposed to because we feel there’s no time or our peers are getting things done and we aren’t and when we become obsessed, we lose focus on our personal growth, relationships and eventually disconnect from reality.

Balancing your life between the pursuit of financial stability and personal growth or other aspects that pertains to your life is easy when there’s a clear goal and when you are doing it in a smart way because, at the end of the day, health is wealth, when you lose your health, you can’t acquire wealth. The most important thing to also note is that the easy way to know your direction or how to go about it is to build connections, hang out with like minds and seek advice from them, then you can have a more organized track and lead a purposeful life.

In as much as making money is the goal in this life, it’s important that we do it the right way and not for the sole aim of intimidating others or for competition because what really matters is financial freedom, having a balanced life that encompasses happiness and good relationships.
