my 'magic ball' is the crypto pre-sales. it is risky, because there are plenty scams, and even if not you don't know how it will work out, but usually it gives the best option both for speculation and mid-, long-term investment.
just my experience, opinion.
the best projects icos, pre-sales usually last for 1-2 days, but not all. the last really good one - i missed - was Mina, they sold it within few hours. the last i didnt miss, was uquid. check them out.
you can find many more. and once again, plenty are scam, sht coin, so you have to check them out.
and it is far from investment advice, but in my opinion, the best way to get involved in given cryptos. of course, it is riskier than well-known cryptos, but the possible profits are much higher, worthy, visibly worthy even with small amounts.
there is a big new one which just went live few weeks, days ago: Arbitrum - if you are interested, maybe start with that one, you can still find all the info about it.
but there are plenty more investment, speculation options, look around, find the most suitable for you.
