IDK what you are trying to accomplish by bashing the devs like they are in some kind of vacuum where they can conjure up their feelings all by themselves and have the ability to change the state/rules at will, all willy nilly like that. And what's the point of declaring something Immutable, regardless how fragile or redundant-proof that Immutability may be, right after you expressed that it has absolutely no such quality as you regard that it can be changed at the whim of Feelings?

I'd like to hear what reasoning you have for thinking that 17 people coming to a consensus is not enough to secure the immutability of the chain, especially for "bitcoin maximalists".
