Golem Overlord is an idle-incremental game on Hive blockchain that aims to be a simple play2earn, but challenging to master. While it was inspired by Terracore and transparently stated, considering that it is being powered by Splex.GG and it has a bigger team behind, I assume that it can deliver features and adapt much faster. And even if I didn't jump on the game in the incipient phase where also promotions where running, I've joined it few weeks after and still had the chance to get and be competitive without the others advancing too much and giving no chance to new players like me.
I opened the gates into the Golem Overlord world barely 5 days ago and paid the entrance fee of 20 Hive tokens from the Hive-Engine wallet. Once I entered the new realm I had to get accustomed with the surroundings and to discover what an almost dying golem like me could do. While I couldn't figure out all the actions and tokenomics I went on YouTube and found some introductory videos that brought me a lot of information and insight on how I should start my journey here. This way I could setup a clear strategy in my mind and start on pounding to make it come true.
While I've been burned before by crypto and play2earn games before, one of my initial goals was to get my return of the investment in few days in case everything goes south. I knew that if I wanted to do this it cannot be the sole goal as there would be penalties and pretty hard to just harvest $PART tokens and sell them on the market. Thus I chose a balance strategy where I've also leveled up some of my skills in order to be able to survive in this harsh environment. One thing that helped was the fact that I got my Fortification to 3, which transformed me from an easy pray to one that still has a chance to evade. The Power and Faith were upgraded to Level 2 in order to be able to get some extra $PART tokens from battling, but that wasn't and probably will not be my main goal.
Having this balanced strategy of protecting my harvested $PART tokens and doing a bit of selling together with leveling up, I've succeed to get a return of my 20 HIVE tokens investment in just 5 days. I think this is pretty great and from now on I can freely play the game and continue getting stronger and stronger. I intend next to level up my Power stats and after that to move up one more level on the Fortification. I am not going crazy on a single stats, but trying to build them balanced with an incline on Fortification first. For now I am pretty glad of my evolution and will wait and see what the future holds for me and for the entire realm built. This is the way!
As the game evolved and more interest got captured, the entry fee is now 30 Hive tokens, but I think they can be recouped in a decent period with a good strategy.

I also just joined this new game on hive and tbh i found some trust on this project because splex team are behind it and I am an old user. From my short experience, I found this game fun and engaging snd also good earning potential. The main token PART is used in almost everything in the game so it’s scarcity will be well maintained I hope. Let’s see how this game perform in long term.
For now the tokenomics are strong, but it well depends on how the game use cases are expanding and if with the right speed to keep the currency in game.

100% agreed man
It's a bit rough at the start and I agree that increasing your fortification is the way to go. I still think the game is quite good because the price of PART is doing quite well and most of my PART is going towards increasing my skill because you get a penalty if you don't stake/burn at least 75% of your earned PART.

Yeah, while I got my return back I would always use 50% for in game upgrades. Still the 8h mining period usually means 2 harvests per day, thus slowly advance in the game which might help with the price.

Had no idea about this one exist on Hive! Great to see P2E Games thriving.
