You Will KYC, You Will Pay For It, And Be Happy

We all know that Twitter is a shit show for some time now. People involved in Crypto Twitter are especially aware of it with all the bots and fake accounts giving away everything and always ready to take your private keys to help you with the metamask problem.

Another problem that Twitter claims does not exist is shadowbanning. Everyone is complaining about Instagram but on Instagram my photos, that i post once in few weeks, are shown to at least 50% of my followers. Few of my latest tweets were show to 6-7% of my followers on Twitter. I am not even talking about engagement, maybe they are all shit, but they were not even shown to anyone.

Musk has a solution for all of it:

If we are going with the information that was shared by Elon, twitter will become an app for people that are willing/able to pay for it and are happy to do the KYC and dox themselves.

With the current algo. being bad as it is, after the change people not willing/able to pay will be nonexistent on the app. And that is the only way that paying for it will eliminate bots. They will just not show tweets by people that did not pay a monthly fee.

Non paying users will be thrown to a Twitter slums to never be seen by the paying costumers (well they are not costumers, they are still the product but are paying to be one)

There is a small chance that Elon will implement an option to pay with crypto but then the bot/troll/targeted campaign problem will only be partially solved. Because there will for sure be some people/corporations ready to throw 10-20k for a month to do their bot campaign. And they will do it from verified accounts.

Will people do it?

A lot of them will. Even those that are complaining about Elon owning twitter and saying they are quitting and deleting the app.

Will i do it? Well if the "price adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity" part will be true and it would mean that more people will see my blogs on Hive. Maybe.

We will see where will the future development of twitter go. Paying for renting your account on a centralized network that can censor you without you even knowing about it, that can just take away your account even if you spent hundreds of dollars on it, does not make a lot of sense.

And i would probably pay a dollar or two to someone i trust on Hive for support of running the infrastructure. Because owning your account is much nicer then renting it from a big centralized corporation.
