I initially thought this was a purple yam, similar to the ones we have in the Philippines. However, as I scrolled down, I noticed a part of it exposed that looked white, which made me wonder if it’s the same as what we have. In the Philippines, purple yams are commonly used to make sweets, not just because of their vibrant color but also for their mildly sweet and earthy flavor.
