We go again, another cuck a-doodle-doo!!!. Did I even get the cock crow right? Never mind, Dani is just full of surprising talks these days, learnt that from @tengolotodo. According to him, he says he is 'the mad scotsman', hahahaha, I will prefer to call him Mr Tengo. By the way, a compliments of the season to you all. I am sure we are all merrying. It's always good to have a good time during this season, it will be another 11 month straight of ups and downs.
Do you always observe the trends of this season? Discount! Discount!! Discount!!!. Big businesses know how to play this game year in and year out, small businesses also join in the race to make the most of the moment and adding another sector are scammers. Yes, you heard me right, scammers. This is the season in which fake can be replaced for original, failed promises by assumed vendors. To be more precise, I had an experience of such last week with a lot of drama to talk of.

I keep on saying, if you follow the crowd, you are likely to end up where they usually do, which is nowhere. This also happens even in the financial markets. Take crypto for instance, how often do influencers trigger sentiments that trends and before you know it, late comers become the full time victims. You have heard this before, probably have been scammed as well, yet, the scenario keeps occurring. As humans, we are driven by curiosity, who knows 'this may be my moment' is always one strong encouragement.
That said, during this season over here you always have to be extra careful. Fraudsters are always out to leverage every of your ignorances just as just happened. Actually, what really happened? Well it began two weeks ago when an assumed NGO (Nongovernmental organization) entered our community. They came with promises but first you will have to key into this opportunity by buying their nutrition supplements. You know when you are ignorant of proper research, be prepared. They even decided to pick some volunteers in the community to aid in easy house to house accessing. To me, this was their well planned strategy.
Come to think of it, the people will believe in their fellow community members and it worked out exactly. The sad part was that these volunteers never even saw what was coming. It was like a Christmas bonanza and according to them was sponsored by the church, a renowned church that I wouldn't want to mention because they actually knew nothing about it. I had a relative who was opportuned to work with them as a volunteer, this is where my part of ignorance came in. He came to me the first week and explained the Christmas giveaway opportunity but I wasn't interested. I only wished he never came back again.

Of course he did, and after a week of confidence he showed up again with evidence of many of our relatives that have keyed into this opportunity. Perhaps it can be true, I thought. The amount was not that much for a panic and secondly, I was also trying to encourage him for being part of the volunteers since he said there has been feedback of health benefits from the supplement itself. I bought two packages; one for me and my brother and I was given a card that will make me eligible for some incentives come last Sunday.
What happened in the end, the D-day was yesterday and they showed up with nothing close to what they promised. My brother had even pinched me earlier saying that it was not going to work. Let's just give it a try, afteralls others have keyed in and the money is not much. When the story spread that these guys just dropped a few incentives and went away I was left laughing and laughing. It was painful but also funny. The entire people who keyed it were made to look like fools and as for me I knew I played the wrong cards. This was just like me buying emotions in the markets.
To conclude, let me add, they went away with the money to enrich themselves if actually they have. It is not that painful to me because it is a figure I can afford yet I am looking at the poor masses they've just looted. Raising that kind of buying benefits and ending up disappointing the people is very tragic, we are used to this in the financial markets, they are not. The volunteers are also left in disappointment, they were the ones working with them with faithful minds. Imagine the finger pointing that they will be facing for a while. Anyway, in all this, I have to be reminded that following the crowd is a fool's business. Either online or offline, if you are not sure of something, don't invest. Secondly, avoid emotions in business or negotiations, it's your money, it is either you will lose it multiply it.
