4/ The case against Assange stems from the series of US top secret documents illegally obtained and passed to Wikileaks by Bradley Manning, US Army soldier serving in Iraq in 2010. The documents, including infamous "Collateral Murder" video recording, were published by Wikilieaks, causing serious embarrassment to administration of President Obama.
3/ The court ruling doesn't exonerates Assange nor does it stop the criminal proceedings in USA, but it gives him right to appeal and, thus, postpone jurisdiction.
2/ The Court accepted Assange's lawyers' arguments that their client may be sentenced to death despite assurances of US Justice Department and Biden's administration that death penalty won't be sought at trial.
