WOW my aunt and uncle moved to Wilson right on the block of that police station then moved across the street from it and then they saved up enough to eventually buy the four apartment building on Irving where I ended up renting a room in their basement. They sold that building and moved here to Florida. They both passed away but my cousins their two sons and daughter are here in Florida. Those were the days. They lived up my way and I was crushed when they moved to Wilson but I used to spend the weekends with them and became like a brother instead of a cousin. Needless to say that Wilson Avenue is a big wonderful part of my childhood memories.
Good to hear! I teach right off of Wilson and walk up that hill to Maria Hernandez park almost every day. Small world. Cheers to Bushwick, the mecca of NYC EDM these days!
