I was able to get my HBD interest payment but it was about .5 HBD shy of my calc but there was some 19% time on the rate which could account for it. I added the extra from my liquid HBD to get me to my even number and on track. I am currently 9 days ahead of my HP goal so have a good bit of leeway for off days in rewards. Today @bradleyarrow posted his daily posting streak and it made me go count mine which I found to be 1378 days so far, since May 25th 2020 and likely one of the longer streaks on the chain (especially for NON BOT written posts). Braiins now has Lightning payments for mining rewards and it works perfect and I sent them to my Alby wallet with zero problems and instantly. SUPER COOL!

I was a bit surprised when I went and counted the days myself. It all started during covid as a means to show @stryeyz what was going on around the farm while she was an "essential" worker and still had to work the whole time. It became habitual and now I HAVE to post every day.

February No-Buy Month
What a deal for me. I didn't meet my goal of saving 50% ($1500) of my monthly budget. But 27% ($815) is not too bad. Below is my report together with my MARCH Savings Report:

Hello @actaylor. Appreciate you stopping by. Thanks for the well wishes. I believe it's easing up after a week now. I can breathe a bit better. Yes, the 27% ($800+) savings helped in other areas of my budget that increased. Auto and homeowners insurance have skyrocketed the past couple of years. Then there's flood insurance on top of that. You have to cut costs on all ends to accommodate the inflation of these costs.
The No-Buy Month helped in reminding me to reduce my entertainment costs, especially dining out when I already have items available. Just being lazy sometimes resorting to convenience that costs your more than you realize.

It's unfortunate to learn that insurance costs have been skyrocketing... It's definitely important to find ways to cut costs elsewhere to accommodate for these increases. You've done amazingly, well done, you! 💫
And YES - it's great to hear that the "No-Buy" month helped you reassess your spending habits. Ditto here - especially when it came to unnecessary splashing. (Do I need x - or do I want x?) Sometimes it's, well, "easy" to fall into the trap of convenience... but being mindful of our spending can really make a difference...
Hello @actaylor. Thanks so much for your support. Yes, I consider my No-Buy Month a success, evening though I didn't reach my goal of saving 50% of my budget. The good thing was that my savings I did realize helped defray the cost of both insurance increases.
It's always a struggle it seems with "want" vs. "need". I'm trying to get totally to the point of only spending on must haves. And, I'm carrying this over to March and see how far I can go with it this year.
I appreciate your visit and engagement. It seems we are all in the same bucket sometimes battling the tug of the "do I really need this" indulgence.

Hello. Thanks for visiting. Yes, I was thoroughly pleased as my auto and homeowner's insurance skyrocketed when I received my 2024 renewal. So much for the $800 savings. Those two took care of that and lurking around for more!

Insurance has increased enormously here, too. Hopefully, the no-buy month helped the increases to have less of an impact.
Yes, it did help by cutting the cost of the insurance increases in half. Now with my reduced electricity and internet monthly costs, we'll be able to handle it. I truly believe that society as a whole forget about seniors whose livelihood mainly depends upon a monthly fixed income.

I am so glad. No-buy month was awesome, I avoided quite a fair bit of buy such as clothes, snacks and eating at more expensive restaurants. From that it did help me to reduce my monthly expenditure. We should do this more often!

I'm thinking about two or maybe three this year - September will be one, before the big winter festivals in the northern hemisphere. I might do one in June, too, we'll see 🙂

I powered up 50 HIVE and promptly delegated a chunk of it out, including to @eds-vote which finally pushed my delegation to over 1000 HP 😁
The up-tick in HIVE's price also meant I used a bunch of the liquid HIVE I bought cheaply to get some HBD at what was effectively a bargain price.
Lovely to see those delegations grow! 😍
