I’ve just struck gold.
Well no, not actual gold…
What I’ve actually struck is a digital mineral called HBIT!
And after geologically surveying the terrain right here underneath this very LeoFinance blog, it turns out that I’m sitting on a BOATLOAD of extremely high-grade HBIT.
Jackpot baby.
What is Hivebits (HBIT)?
Hivebits is a cool little project from @crrdlx that I’ve been drawn to because I'm weird like that.
HBIT is a token on Hive that you can mine by calling a command in the comments section of any Hive blog.
However, HBIT is not the same as other tipping tokens.
The purpose of tipping tokens like PIZZA or LUV is to give tokens to others that you want to tip.
But when you call the HBIT command in the comments section of any Hive blog, the HBIT token actually goes to your own account.
With HBIT, you’re not comment-tipping.
You’re comment-mining.
How do I mine HBIT?
To mine HBIT, you need only the following:
- A Hive account
- You must comment on any Hive blog using !hivebits
That's it.
So in order to mine 1 HBIT token daily, all I need to do is simply reply to this blog with the !hivebits command in the comment.
But one of the coolest things about the HBIT project is that you can also earn from my open pit HBIT mine!
If you leave a comment with the !hivebits command right here, you will receive 0.9 HBIT in your Hive-Engine wallet and I’ll receive the remaining 0.1 HBIT as a tip.
I mean that’s fair enough, right?
I am the one doing all the heavy lifting here after all.
Are HBIT tokens valuable?
HBITS are EXTREMELY VALUABLE!
Not to mention the fact that you’re only a few steps away from flipping your HBITS into BTC.
Just saying!

I have been mining it but I guess you could sell it. However I prefer to just hold the HBIT. I believe you can also get the entire HBIT from mining if you use it under your own post. However I don't bother doing that as I find it easier to share.

If I use the command in a comment on this post each day, then I will mine the full 1.0 HBIT.
But if I choose to use the command on someone else's post, then they will receive 0.1 HBIT and I will only get 0.9 of the mined HBIT.
Remember that it's all just a bit of fun and up to you how and where you use the command.

Hi, since this is the biggest open pit mine ever, 😀 I figured I'd do a little test here if you don't mind. I'm trying to set it up so that !HBIT also works as a command. This is my first test, so we'll see...

! HBIT (no space, uppercase) should work. Maybe I'll add other versions, like lowercase if I get the time and can figure it out. I'll test again tomorrow (can only test once per day).

If you choose to reply to your own blog, then you receive 1 HBIT.
If you choose to reply to someone elses blog, then you receive 0.9 HBIT and they receive 0.1.
