Asking people to tell you about their problems is really key. It makes them feel that you are looking for ways to help and not just looking for ways to sell. It took me a while to figure out how "pitching it backwards" from the point of view of their problem up to my solution and necessary features of the product to provide said solution and solve said problem, rather than just showing off features.
Thankfully, we both found Simon Sinek on TED it seems ;).

Thanks @fredrikaa! The face is actually from EMAX when we held those great cabin parties! 😃 Haha, Simon is legendary! I have sure picked up a few lessons from him when I was all stoked about selling! But it is a great point and not everybody in "the sales world" understands that unfortunately.
