How to Deal with vexPOLYCUB for the LEO Airdrop

in LeoFinancelast month (edited)

I know the process of handling the requirements to participate in the LEO airdrop for holders of CUB and POLYCUB base or derived tokens is difficult for enough Hive users.

I guess I am quite fortunate since my particular situation can only be handled via support and I no longer have any other tokens that require additional management at this time.

I'm imagining someone will create a more in-depth guide for other situations because I've seen people in need of them.

But for vexPOLYCUB, I'll describe everything in here, as far as I understand this.

The Inleo team came up with two guidelines to participate in this airdrop. The first one involved sending a transaction with a memo (hex data), and that hasn't worked properly for the few who tried it, according to what Khal mentioned in the AMA. So they changed the process we need to go through. Most people would need to follow that new process if they have liquid CUB or POLYCUB or can make their tokens liquid.

But people who still have locked vexPOLYCUB for over 100 days or so, can't follow this process because they can't unlock their vexPOLYCUB in time (30 days) to participate in the LEO airdrop.

During a previous AMA, Khal mentioned how they were thinking about dealing with this situation, and to me, that sounds like a good solution, even if it will take several steps over a relatively long period. I'm not sure if the process still in place right now is the same (since they get tweaked), but here's what Khal said at the time, quoted from my memory:

vexPOLYCUB holders would need to contact support if they want to participate in the LEO airdrop because their tokens would still be locked by the time the airdrop window is over.

They will provide proof of their locked vexPOLYCUB, and LEO will be set aside for them for the airdrop, but not airdropped.

When their vexPOLYCUB is unlocked, they will burn them, provide proof of the burn, and their airdrop will be released.

The quote is probably not 1:1 from my memory, but the essence of the message is probably not lost.

Update: I just discovered a short clip from the AMA that describes the process in Khal's words.

I started with the first step described by Khal there. I contacted support. I was asked to provide a screenshot with my locked vexPOLYCUB where the lock duration is visible, like this:

and my wallet address. You can find the vexPOLYCUB info on the xPOLYCUB page, about mid-page. You can copy your wallet address by clicking at the top-right corner, where the wallet you are connected to in PolyCub.com will show up (or you need to connect first).

I think that's it until we need to burn our vexPOLYCUB. Either that, or we will be contacted by support before that.

I was waiting for the process to be flushed out and I think I'll bookmark this post so I can do it over the weekend.

Yeah, they said they would post more about vexPOLYCUB so I was waiting for that, but I think they are caught with the Maya listing and the Arbitrum LEO. In the end, I decided to contact support as I described in the post, and it was smooth. That's the ONLY option for vexPOLYCUB holders, but if anyone has liquid tokens for the airdrop they should follow the guide already shared by the team.

Didn't know anything about Arbitrum LEO. It's cool to be available at more chains. I'm very hopeful for Maya protocol to work out 🍀 !LUV !PIZZA

They switched it at the last minute. The first plan was to list wLEO (from Ethereum) on Maya, but after doing some testing with fees and slippage, they realized it wasn't a good solution. They decided on Arbitrum LEO because Maya was about to integrate with Arbitrum, and the fees on Arbitrum are even lower than on Polygon.

Thanks a ton for the details! I have to go get a support ticket for both CUB & pCUB then!

For CUB and pCUB, if they are liquid or you can make them liquid, you don't need to go through the support ticket route unless you can't manage to go through the process they shared here. Otherwise, it's probably easier to just follow the steps.

The support ticket is the ONLY WAY for vexPOLYCUB holders, but not for everyone else.

I have seen a few people post worries about their polycub tokens before. Nice to see that they weren't just abandoned.

Yeah, it's a 1:1 airdrop from Cub and Polycub tokens to LEO tokens going on, on a USD-worth basis.

Sounds complicated, at least I don't own those 😅

Yeah, it can be, especially if you don't go outside Hive much. And in this vexPolycub case, it'll take a few months to complete the whole thing, but that's because of the lock.

I didn't know about this before, now I know I don't have any coins that I have stacked.

Maybe you have POLYCUB (polycub.com) or CUB (cubdefi.com) instead. I think CUB was airdropped to all LEO stakeholders if I remember correctly, so if you had LEO staked, you should have CUB, if you haven't sold it. POLYCUB was airdropped to all CUB stakers (in the den, I think).

Thank you so much for sharing a very well detailed information about this

Thanks for the information
