This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only a general overview, with details expanded in the post.

52-Week HBD Savings Challenge

A 52-week challenge following the popular model starts slowly and becomes increasingly more difficult with every passing week. The challenge is not at the beginning but at the end. That's why, we can use the easy start to prepare for the tougher weeks ahead.

In my case, I started with 1 HBD in week 1. This is also the step that increases the amount I need to save every week. The rule is, in my case: I need to add to savings the amount of HBD per week equal to the week number in the challenge. That means, in week 52 I'll need to save 52 HBD.

We are in the 17th week of the 52-week HBD challenge. That means I added 17 HBD to the savings for this particular goal, and reached 153 HBD, without counting the accrued interest.

Here's how things look right now:

Note: You can see there is already a small discrepancy in the totals between the spreadsheet and what is in the wallet. That is because of some approximations and easy calculations, mainly calculating and adding interest weekly instead of at every block or when it is calculated by the blockchain.

Well... I kind of messed up this week. I didn't pay attention to the available liquid HBD added through author rewards and ended up a little below my target for this week and I didn't have any other liquid HBD other than on Hive-Engine. If I had pushed this update for a few hours, I'd have had the necessary HBD, but didn't want to wait. Although I didn't like it, I preferred to swap a little over 4 HIVE for the needed HBD. This is an opportunity cost at the price of HIVE and the expected increase in the next year or so, but at least it was a small amount.

For next week, I want to make sure I'll have the necessary liquid HBD, so I started withdrawing from savings some of my HBD reserves, which I'll keep liquid going forward, to be able to add to the amount I pile up every week, as needed.

Posting & Commenting Goal

I haven't missed a daily post this year yet. Reached 1767 posts published, with 238 left to hit the target in 2024. That puts the progress at 32% where 30.77% was needed to be in the green.

Here's the situation so far:

I haven't missed any edition of Week through Adrian's Lenses in 2024 either, and I mention this since it's also part of my posting goal. Overall, I reached the 67th edition of the weekly roundup which debuted at the beginning of 2023.

I also started the week with 18,382 comments made. Ended the week with 18467, which means I made 85 comments last week, which is below the weekly average needed to reach the comments target by the end of the year. Incredible weekly consistency, but below the average...

I currently need an average of 99 comments weekly to reach the comments target by the end of the year.

Land Plots Unlocked

Another significant progress in unlocking land plots this week, using newly added and freed-up DEC. I also started using cards with penalties on Canion because I don't have enough free cards at a low(er) energy requirement.

Started the week with 67 plots unlocked and productive and 21 under construction. I currently have 70 productive plots and 22 under construction, again, 4 more than last week.

For the accounting part of this goal, I'll add plots under construction as unlocked, to better see changes from week to week, even though, technically, they are not productive until the clearing part is finished and you feed the workers.

Here's the current situation:

And a more detailed view:

Productive Plots: 70
Under Construction: 22

A few more worksites will be completed this week, which will increase the number of productive plots.

LEO Staked

My LEO stake remains at 23,800 LP, 3k being delegated to one of the winners of the previous LPUD draw. I continued to add more LEO to the SWAP.HIVE-LEO pool for now.

Here's the current situation:

If I participate in the future LPUDs as before, with 200 LEO power-ups, and nothing else staked throughout the months, this goal should be completed in October.

ZING Multiplier - Completed

Goal completed in week 10 with 25,203 ZING.

Since then, I slowly grew my stash from staking rewards only. Waiting for sales.

My ZING holdings are now at 25,869.

This was the final situation when the goal was achieved, I won't keep updating it:

It sucks to hear that you weren't paying attention and you had to swap some Hive over to make that HBD goal.

It looks like your weekly comment goal is just getting a bit further behind. It's still not too far behind.

Yeah, I'm determined to do something about it this week. At least a little bit.

Nice progress. It must be nice to have that little HBD fund. I'm going to have to start saving as well! Sounds like you are making the best of that land in Splinterlands. I never did buy any, I'm a little worried about the game right now with all the changes. We shall see what happens.

Yes, HBD can be very useful when you need something liquid and relatively stable. Splinterlands hasn't been doing great, but maybe they are on the way to improving things.

I hope so because I still have a large collection!

Yeah, so do I.

If you think hive Will rise, why not swap hbd for hive?

Because that's my 52-week challenge. I buy HIVE too.

Great job on your goals @gadrian! Do the commas on the chart of your 52-Week HBD Savings Challenge represent a period money amount? What are the numbers in the green column and the 4th column? Thank you. Barb 😊 !BBH !CTP #ctp

Do the commas on the chart of your 52-Week HBD Savings Challenge represent a period money amount?

Yes, that's a period in the British/American system. I reused the chart someone else created, and she formatted it this way and didn't bother to change it, since I'm used to it as well.

What are the numbers in the green column and the 4th column?

That's the approximate interest during that week.

OK thank you @gadrian I just wanted to make sure and clarify what I thought. No need for you to change anything. 😊👍 !BBH !CTP

Your $Zing holdings are on its way to 30,000
I’m glad
Keep accumulating!!

I don't focus on that atm. I consider the goal achieved.
