It's mostly about politics at this point. Paramount is controlled by Ellisons, who are Trump's donors and believed to be the true power behind the throne.
Yeah, a lot revolves around controlling the narrative. But with so many sources of information nowadays, it is increasingly difficult to do that, unless you go to extremes, like the EU does (we will see how successfully, probably not).
