A Tuesday Traipse

Yesterday, was hard. I baked, without break from 5:45 AM til 4 PM. My coworker called out sick, and instead of moaning and complaining, I just went hard.

Today, well, today I am feeling the effects of all that hard work and am a bit on the sluggish side. But, it's the hub's birthday! And birthdays are meant for celebrating!

So, I got up and whipped up some sourdough blueberry scones, as everyone deserves a delightful birthday breakfast. The hubs was super amiable in his countenance as I presented him with a cup of coffee and a fresh from the oven scone.

I then moved on to miscellaneous life things, you know, the minutia of tasks that pile up and one must tend to, the not so fun side of being an adult. There were website credentials to renew, expired credit cards to update for service renewals, new car registration tags to apply, and college books to order.

Those tasks only took a tic, and then it was on to the traipse. The bergamot is just so beautiful and I find my eye wandering to its pale blossoms whenever I step out the front door.

I mean, those cotton candy-like blooms are so much more pleasant to look at than the yellow jacket ravaged mouse corpses that the cats have been leaving about. Or the little piles of turkey leavings that are adorning most of my yards. Or the pile of energy drink cans the youths left in the carport. heathens.

As I meandered about a bit ago I took in all the work I need to get done. I NEED to mow and weedeat. I NEED to thin the carrots. I NEED to fertilize the squash and corn again. I NEED to do this. I NEED to do that.

You know what though? Today I WANT to relax and rest up a bit. And spend some time with my hubs on his celebration of existence day.

I think I am going to do just that.
