Boosting Engagement With ~200 Comments Per Week & Initiatives!

LEO Giveaway Twice Per Week

You can see in the latest "Weekly LEO Report" that I made a total of 195 comments. I was able to get a spot on the leaderboards with those comments and even though it's just a fraction of the amount of comments some others are doing, day after day, I was still able to produce that amount of comments while working for approximately 60 hours per week. That equates to ~27 comments per day.

#Initiative10 was all about making 10 comments per day, all in an attempt to raise awareness, stimulate engagement and boost the overall numbers. We want to look like a healthy, active and thriving community and it all starts with engagement.

You might have seen my "Let's Talk" posts, simply but an official announcement of an on-going contest I have where I give away 10 LEO per week in total. I give away 5 LEO twice per week to random users that have made a comment on any of my posts.

  • In all honesty, it might be one of the easiest ways to have a chance for an extra 1 LEO. I also upvote each comment, so you will be rewarded for your efforts in one way or another..

Also, I have recently decided to reward engagement and comments more than articles (overall content within the community), so you have a good chance to earn more from comments than articles due to content being overlooked and ignored.

The "Leo Talk" posts that is being published by @leomarkettalk is a superb way to engage as well. You don't only help the community to boost the overall numbers, you also make friends, discuss and share tips & ideas within those posts.

I am likely to make some minor changes to my on-going contest going forward, as my intention with this is to have an on-going contest and move some of the amazing engagement to my content instead of having all of it within one single post.

That being said, if I was able to make almost 200 comments last week, while working for 60 hours, what is your excuse for not engaging with the most supportive & thriving community on Hive?

  • Are you skeptic about engagement being one of the most vital ingredients for success?
  • Are you just lazy and don't want to contribute?
  • Have you stopped caring about our success?

I have decided to aim for at least 10 comments per day on average. That's a total of ~70 comments per week. Even though it might not be enough to reach the leaderboards in terms of most comments, it is a healthy amount of comments that is valuable and important for the growth and success of this community.

I went back to the post and I guess I almost made 120 comments a day on LeoFinance. Granted most of them were probably on the @leomarkettalk but I think we are starting to ask people to post links to posts they see. So this way I can comment on 2 things while only reading one post. It should at least spread it outside the post a little bit.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah, I think that is an awesome way of spreading engagement elsewhere. It should increase our overall engagement by a fair bit with time. :)

Oh shit, I'm not even on that chart anymore... Taskmaster is almost impossible to catch at this point.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha yeah, he is a true comment-machine.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks to Taskmaster, the aces are not on top right now. :D

lol taskie averages my comfort per week in a day. it is hard to compete on his level really but it is worth aspiring to...

I only comment these days rather than making posts. I enjoy the manual curation process and, due to the size of LeoFinance it's manageable for me to look through most of the posts every day. Although I must admit to upvoting more than commenting.

Many of the posts are similar in nature and I don't want to be saying the same thing over and over.

I think I make at least 10 comments a day but I'm not sure. What would be the easiest way to check?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think the easiest way to check would be to look at the LeoFinance engagement post from abh12345. Except for just manually keeping track of the comments you make.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Of course. Duh! i always look at Asher's posts to see what position I'm in. I forgot the actual numbers are there too. 😂

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha, it's easy to forget. :D

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

i think i managed to squeeze in about 200 comments this week. getting my rhythm I suppose. once I get comfortable with this number I will push for 300

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That would be 42+ comments per day. A superb goal!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

this is impressive. Making a total of 195 comments in a week is great and you did fantastic work on leofinance. have a nice weekend.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You could easily make 5 or 10 comments in the daily @leomarkettalk posts, so these numbers are actually not impressive at all. Everything adds up though, so even a single comment would help us in the long haul.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have started to put minimum 10 comments every day on Leo. This number could be more but not less than 10.

so even a single comment would help us in the long haul.

True and agree with this. thanks.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think that's a great goal to have.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Not impressive at all? It is probably much more than the amount of most of the people's annual comments.

That is quite impressive, if you ask me.
Many people do not (or rarely) write comments.

I agree.. there are many who rarely engage and 200 comments for them is like one year job.

Many people do not (or rarely) write comments.

true.

We need to set a new standard around here, and convince people to engage.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's a really good point actually. I don't think it's that difficult to do it, which is why I don't think it's impressive. Like you said though, it's the annual amount of comments for some people, so I guess it's quite impressive to make that in a week.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That was a great achievement to have earned 200 comment. Engagement is truly something the community user should give more priority to.

Yeah, engagement is extremely important on a social platform.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You're right. Engagement is one of the most important metrics for any community. This week I didn’t skip, but due to the workload, I probably will not be able to overcome the 200 comment mark.
