How to Grow & Level Up in Hive

Hive is vast and the swim has not all been easy I tell you. I bet anyone who came before me and has grown their accounts organically will say the same thing too.

So when they say consistency is key, they really mean it.

And that's what we have been doing since day 1 of 2022. Although I've been on Hive for over a year now, I didn't start well soon enough. But we learnt from our past mistakes and we started to do better after reflecting upon them.

How do we thrive here?

We need to keep coming and showing up every single day. Banging the door and keep making our presence felt on-chain. And perhaps, add to that some stroke of luck too?

Based on personal experiences, here's to share a little bit more on how to grow and thrive here on the Hive blockchain:

Being engaged, consistently.

I read and heard TaskMaster4450 said not so long ago that if you are not being seen on Hive, try to do 500 comments a day and you will see what happens. It is no secret that engagement is key when we want to increase our network and here on Hive, we do that by being consistent with our interaction with others.

The Hive and Leo Finance Engagement Leagues by @abh12345 have been a big help in my account growth. The Hive Power rewards for being in the top 10 on the league week by week, month after month from since the day I became an active fish added up. Plus the bonus 300 Points that we receive from @ecency from time to time too. These points are of course helpful because we can use them to boost our own posts and even other people's articles.

And now there's the LeoThreads which is becoming one of the easiest and fastest way to microblog and stay engaged on-chain. I'd say, this one is not to be missed too.

Creating contents, consistently.

One of the sources of inspiration of what to write about can spring from reading and interaction with others on-chain and that is why engagement is a must and should never be underestimated. Also helps that there are a lot of communities in Hive where we can get ideas from.

I personally have a slated time for posting my articles and I rarely deviate from it. This is how I stay on track with all the other activities that I do each day (both online and offline).

Staking/Powering Up consistently.

This is of course how we increase and grow our stakes. Higher stakes = higher curation rewards = more to stake and the cycle repeats.

There are 3 ways to get some bonus while staking:

• Participate in the Hive PUD every first of the month.

  This is when you should power up at least ten (10) HIVE and then write about it using the hashtag #hivepud and #hpud. You will then be included in the HPUD drawings for a chance to win delegations which will of course help you in growing your account in the form of curation rewards. Read more about it here.

• Join the Hive Power Up Month (PUM).

  This is where you stake at least 1 HIVE everyday for the whole month OR write one article a day and setting your payout to 100% Power Up. Completing this will earn you a chance for a delegation from @hivebuzz. And we know that an added HP delegation means an increase in our curation rewards. Check this post for more information.

• Take part in the LEO Power Up Day (LPUD).

  For those who didn't know, this happens every 15th of the month where you should at power up at least 150 LEO for a chance to win Leo Power delegations which, just like Hive Power, will increase your LEO curation rewards. More details here.

You could say the word I'm trying to emphasize here is consistency.

Why so? Because when we do things in a consistent manner, it becomes a habit. And when a habit is formed, it feels a lot easier to do. And the magic starts from there.

And of course, never stop learning because it's how we broaden our horizon. And let's not be complacent when we check off our goals. Instead, we set anew and work on them too.

And that's how this once Red Fish became a Minnow and then grew into a wee Dolphin today.

And one little secret, if you feel things are quite hard and working out on your goals is becoming a little tough, find someone who can inspire and motivate you to keep going. I found mine, months ago.
