Woke up today to a very panicky crypto market, mostly red charts, some with up to 30% drop in prices. My Hive portfolio value has been slashed by a few thousand dollars but for some reason, it felt kind of okay. It's different though when looking at my other wallets off-chain. I get doubtful and panicky at times.
It occurred to me that it might be better to wait until the Bitcoin halving is over before making any kind of moves (purchases). People seem to be very nervous these days and if the halving day is going to be a "sell-off" event, then it will be nice to be in a position where we would be able to take advantage of some coins or tokens on sale.
But then again, I still bought a few more HIVE today. Can't resist it when the price has hit 34-36 cents.
Anyhow, it's the weekend and for those who have been reading me, you know it's time for the progress update. Hope no one is getting bored already with my weekly ramblings.😅 And so here they are, the numbers I mean :)
Staked HIVE (Hive Power)
- Current HP: 18,686
- Previous Week: 18,535
- Increase: 151HP
According to Hivestats, 23 of those were my curation rewards, 15 from daily power up, and others from content rewards as usual. A good reason why I stay consistent in creating at least one long-form post daily. The rewards simply add up.
Staked LEO (Leo Power)
- Current LP: 29,257
- Previous Week: 29,192
Added 65 LEO in the week from HP delegation rewards that are directly staked to my account and also from my manual daily staking in the amount based on the calendar date.
My content is mostly published on the INLEO frontend and I also engage on threads so there's always a chance of accumulating LEO through this method aside from the curation reward that I get from my Leo Power. Speaking of which, I've just been a recipient of a 10k LP delegation for participating in the previous LPUD. This means I now have at least 39k Leo Power which translates to more rewards whenever I curate on INLEO.
Sometimes, I also get so lucky and receive some fat LEO Whale upvote on my threads which is just awesome.😍
HBD Savings
- Current: 840 HBD
- Previous Wk: 795 HBD
- Increase: 45 HBD
A good chunk was added during the week. I just randomly add any amount, depending on my liquid HBD balance. Also claimed the savings interest of 12.70 which boosted the total amount. Would be nice if I'd be able to grow this to a level where the interest is sufficient to pay for my StarLink monthly charge, lol!
Anyway, here's the quick summary in table format. Still growing amidst the panic in the market.

I bought hive thrice in the last 24 hrs xd. The price was too good haha.
You are saying that there will be panic selling during halving day but when you look at the current price I think most people will wait for it to hit ATH high again. From what I read online the price is gonna increase a lot after a few months after halving. Although things changed this time because of the ETFs. I wonder what will happen now.

It will be interesting how the market is going to behave on halving day. While most are panicking, others are scooping some more and stacking up.

If you are new, or went all in, a drop can cause anxiety. When you have been around a while, are looking to build your stake, or have liquid stablecoins/fiat to buy the dips, it is a day in the life and just opportunity.

My Binance portfolio decreased a few thousand too 🤣 and it saddened me to think about having no extra money to buy during the dip.. I should have sold some assets when the market was still green..

I bought some hive recently at a similar price around 34 cents. I am also panicking too about my crypto portfolio and I did try to buy what I thought was a dip then it went down even further haha. Let’s just say I am totally in the red at the moment
It's okay. It's just funny when the market does that but if we have funds, we can buy even more with the further dips.
Never good to panic. I am pulling HBD from savings with a plan to buy more HIVE and then sell during the next bull run and then convert back to HBD.
Panicking makes us act irrationally so yep, it's better to manage our emotions well. Sounds like you have planned things well, all the best :)

One thing for sure... PANIC is a big no in trading.
I think you made the right choice in buying during the low prices.
You know it is ok 😅 thats why we dont panic, during dumps and bear market are the best times to stay active on Hive and keep earning, accumulating while the rest panic, on the long term is what turns the account strong, when I look to older accounts who have more than 4 years feel my account still so little so I just keep going, stop is not an option 😅✌️
