Not really, due to how Hive Engine works. What you are doing when you claim is broadcasting a custom json to the blockchain. A bot then watches for this and responds and sends the NFTs if appropriate. Then they arrive.

Just assume it works (cause it does, and you only have to do it once).

You can verify they arrived in dCity game or on Tribal Dex OpenHive a little bit after you claim.

I'm not providing a success/fail message to the user for similar reasons and I'm gonna dive into this soon. I was wondering if it's not enough to just scan blocks right before broadcasting the operation and continue doing so for a few seconds to make sure that the operation has no errors. Wouldn't that work?

You will get a transaction id, and you can check with polling if that transaction exists on the blockchain.
