Staking to stay Kings!! (as the Lions we are) - Some LEOrning meat for my today's 150 LEO LPUD

in LeoFinance13 days ago (edited)

Dear fellow Lions,

Is everyone feeling the heeeat? Not only the one from the #Bitcoin ASIC’s and nodes on their path to the moon, with the 4th #Halving taking place this coming Sat-urday (always the best day to stack sats, lol), but also the LPUD heeeat!!!

With this #LPUD (Leo Power Up Day) post, I’ve decided to start shipping and sharing a « slice of #LEOrning » every time I’ll power up my Leo staking.

In this first opportunity, the educative / LEOrning topic will be:

*****How is powering up our $LEO a Security Enhancing Measure?*****

As far as I’ve seen, it hasn’t been stressed so often that to raise our staked LEO tokens amount adds a layer of protection against malicious attacks targeting our ecosystem.

By staking LEO, we essentially lock away our holdings temporarily, making them become out of reach for theft or fraudulent transactions. In case someone would get unauthorized access to our INLEO account, or hack his way into it, all he’ll be able to do is to trigger the LEO #unstaking process – and ready himself to wait for 7 days, until the first 25% of our staked LEO will be made available as liquid tokens ! [see : https://docs.inleo.io/the-leo-token-economy/staking/unstaking]

In other words, even succeeding in getting a grip on a small portion of our LEO assets will require from the intruder to grant us a whole week, so that we’ll most probably have the opportunity to recover our Hive & INLEO account, thus being who will in the end receive back those 25 % LEO tokens in liquid form.

Moreover, in the case of Hive as a whole, staking contributes to strengthen the overall network security: the more we own Hive Power in our account, the more weight will have our vote for the Blocks Producers (the « #Witnesses », in the Hive ecosystem) we choose to support, due to the quality of their work – and the greater their likeliness to be better rewarded for their Hive full node set up and monitoring activity.

If I’m not mistaken (nor «Miss Staking» - I’m a man, lol), up to now there aren’t Lions owned nodes being fully dedicated to process and propagate the INLEO’s ecosystem transactions. The creation of «Leo Node» has been a speeding up and stabilizing factor for the INLEO dApps, but is itself a full Hive node. I can imagine a day when a part of our staked LEO would directly contribute to empower and secure dozens of INLEO specific nodes. I guess it’s a story yet to be buidlt, though.

In conclusion, increasing one's staked LEO serves as a proactive measure aimed at deterring potential attackers of our accounts while simultaneously supporting the health and stability of the entire HIVE & INLEO ecosystem.

THAT’s WHY I’ve solemnly waged a #LION attack on the nearest fiat castle, with a 150 LEO calibre payload.

See you all in the Threads jungle!!
