The eighth wonder of the world is an absurdity our minds should be trained to handle

In this life, people will exploit you the moment they know you are desperate. This is something I told my friend yesterday and it's the truth. I have heard stories of people especially women who get lied to by false prophets and fake pastors to part with their hard-earned money using different tactics especially if they are desperately in need of something... A child or a husband.

It doesn't happen to women alone, there are instances when men are exploited too. For them, it could be when they are in a hurry to amass a lot of money, maybe to sort the hospital bills of a loved one, or to pay up a choking debt.

One way or the other, if the next human can read into your emotions and finds desperation, there is every tendency that you will get exploited.

The women in the above-mentioned scenario are consistently told cooked-up stories and lie to bring their hard-earned money for solutions that never happen. And they will keep churning out huge sums because the prophet constantly comes up with fresh and new stories by the day. Make-believe that their problems will be over... A problem that continues

The men oftentimes are lured into life-threatening situations that allow getting in easier than getting out. In this case, their peace of mind gets exploited and they begin to live the rest of their lives in constant fear.

No one is above manipulation! I read this somewhere. But you can do things that allow you to be safe from exploitation - Money or Peace of mind.

Extension! Deadlines!

Deadlines are often the most reasonable grounds to get exploited. Women who want kids or husbands and find themselves in the prophet's nest are always worried that time is passing them by. And they are often prepared to do whatever it takes to beat time.

Men who get a rub of their peace of mind feel the same. Maybe, they feel all of their friends have gotten rich/wealthy and they have been left behind. They don't seem to see how their timeline is getting any better rather they see the worst.

But if we increase our timelines or deadlines, there is every tendency that we will not be pushed to sacrifice our values or standard for anything or anyone.

The moment we set goals for shorter-term horizons, we put ourselves under a lot of pressure to meet up.

But setting longer-term goals gives us the windows to make mistakes without being worried but get to learn and adjust. Longer-term goals mean we have enough time to die a hundred times and still resurrect and make it.

In our financial journey to independence, longer-term goals mean we will have the chance to move through certain market conditions without panicking about the first bear market or economic downturn. We can have the stamina to withstand whatever comes with the economy.

By setting a Long term horizon, we give the eighth wonders of the world a chance to do its magic and to bring us to prosperity.

So, stop seeking short-term profits/gains so you do not get exploited by fallacies. Instead, choose the long-term outlook, so you'll have enough time to build your positioning and stand the test of time.
