RE: Tik Tok the Witch is Dead?

in LeoFinance17 days ago

You're right, it's no surprise, I also dislike TikTok. The whole situation is a mess. It started as a platform for fun, like that little girl dancing back in 2020, but now it's this giant, manipulative thing.

Creators are trapped. They pour their souls into building audiences, only to have it all disappear if the government decides to pull the plug. It's like their work doesn't even belong to them. And the worst part? They're so reliant on these platforms, they're scared to leave.

It's like these young people, always talking about how tech-savvy they are, they're actually the most helpless. They're renting their success instead of building something truly theirs. They keep chasing the next trend, the next viral video, instead of creating something meaningful and independent.

It's a real shame. They have the potential to build amazing things (somewhere else), but they're too busy chasing fleeting fame and letting corporations control their destiny.

It doesn't belong to them. "Not your keys, not your crypto" is the saying. Similar for accounts and content on the platforms.

You're right, 'Not your keys, not your crypto' is a solid rule. It applies to accounts and content on platforms too. Basically, if you don't own the underlying technology, you don't truly own your data or creations. That's why I'm exploring Hive this year – it's a decentralized platform that puts control back in the hands of the creators.
