Why Are Royal Mail Prices Increasing?

in LeoFinance3 months ago

Royal Mail have recently annouced that it will increase the price of first-class stamps by 30pence to £1.65 from October 7th with the second class stamps will remain at 85pence.

The increase in first class stamps follows on from April's 10p rise to £1.35.

People are already boycotting Royal Mail and this increase won't help Royal Mail who claim they need to increase their prices to due financial challenges.

However, people aren't sending letters/cards because it's too expensive in the first place and increasing the cost isn't solving it. In fact, you can find birthday cards and christmas in shops cheaper then stamps.
