We had a very special guest today as @thedeltron joined us to discuss a truly remarkable proposal that has been started on Hive!

The idea....To create a movie based on Hive and the entire 'split' from Steem!

Obviously, this captured our attention and we wanted to dive in and learn much more about this project and the team behind the proposal :)

Hope you enjoy this as much as we did!!

I know it will take some time but it will be really cool and exciting to see a movie about our beloved Hive

Absolutely!

It will be something awesome to see for sure!

Interested to see that Hive blockchain is now powerful enough to fund the movies, documentaries and also through purely crowdfunding. It'd be fun to see this type of project coming to reality.

The DHF is like...Our secret weapon!

It sounds like an interesting project but maybe I just feel like it's something in the past because I wasn't here when it took place. I'll watch it if it does come out though because I am interested from everyone talking about it now and then.

It was a gong show for sure...Funny thing is, I remember a day or two before the split...I did an entire post about 'how we need to support the apps on Steem' lol Welp!

Speaking about how the community is the real value in Hive as opposed to whale-centralized power in the old Steemit concept one thing that I have noticed is that there is a massive increase of a Hive "middle-class".

There are these accounts that have been building up slowly, though constantly just interacting and content creation and gaining the kind of HP and network it would cost a lot of money to equal if you had to buy it.

There are large amounts of these users that have the ability to build up new users and build their own little projects without the need of a big whale account to contribute most of the funding and/or rewards.

This is as good for the Redfish as it is for the Whales. It means that the blockchain is going to explode with growth as growth can come from all levels in the ecosystem!

I am excited to stay active in Hive and see where I end up, month to month.

I started the year on 313HP and I am now on 408HP. I left Steemit alone for 3 years and Hive is very different and just so much better... that amount of growth took me months in the old blockchain.

I have a target of at least 800HP by the end of the year! Let the second 400HP be faster than the first!

Yeah I mean, the rich will always get richer. And that's no different on Hive. But here it's incentivized to help...Everyone grow! There are very few 'egos' here compared to what was on Steem. It's not perfect but wow, it opens it up for everyone to get a shot at this stuff!

Thanks for having us, here is our proposal and we have the discord links and blog post links on there if people want to get involved! https://peakd.com/proposals/212

Thanks for hanging out and sharing the big vision. Exciting stuff for sure!

Detailed Article:
The Cryptomaniacs Podcast episode opens with a focus on the Justin Sun takeover of the Hive blockchain community, sparking conversations about creating a film to chronicle these events. The guest, Tom the Deltron, shares his introduction to the cryptocurrency space through discussions on the Justin Sun takeover led by Starkerz and Charlie Shrem's podcast. The narrative emphasizes the allure of the Hive project due to its decentralized nature and the community's efforts to reclaim power from centralized entities, serving as a beacon for libertarian ideals.

The episode delves into the thematic core of the potential film project, contemplating whether to adopt a documentary style or carry a more narrative tone to portray the events akin to a David and Goliath saga. Tom advocates for an authentic representation of the events while acknowledging the potential for artistic interpretation in storytelling. The conversation extends to exploring different angles and perspectives within the community, adding layers to the narrative of the takeover saga.

A significant point of discussion is the community's response to the takeover, portraying it as a pivotal moment where decentralized forces challenged and stood up against centralized domination. Despite the initial loss of control over the Steemit platform, the migration to Hive symbolized a reshaping of power dynamics within the blockchain domain, underscoring the resilience and determination of the community.

Moving forward, the podcast transitions to a broader discourse on decentralized communities and blockchain projects, with a spotlight on the Hive platform standing out as a model of decentralized excellence. Comparisons are drawn with established giants like Facebook and Twitter, contrasting the value proposition of decentralized platforms where community empowerment drives intrinsic value rather than a reliance on a central figure.

The dialogue extends to a reflection on the impact of decentralized platforms on traditional centralized models, probing the sustainability of existing business paradigms in the face of evolving alternatives. The admiration for Hive's decentralized structure is voiced, crediting its adaptability to the absence of a singular controlling authority and lauding the community's capability to innovate and steer the platform independently.

Furthermore, the podcast delves into the governance challenges faced by decentralized projects like Hive, especially concerning the manipulation by centralized exchanges in voting dynamics. The speakers highlight the necessity for heightened vigilance and community participation to safeguard against centralization tendencies, underlining the critical role of community-driven initiatives in fortifying the cryptocurrency landscape.

In a reflective tone, the episode concludes by offering a glimpse into the aftermath of the Justin Sun takeover within the cryptocurrency community, accentuating the responses from influential figures like Vitalik Buterin and John McAfee. Vitalik's endorsement of transitioning to alternative platforms post-takeover and McAfee's reiteration of the immutability of community spirit against monetary influence serve as cornerstone moments underscoring the resilience and unity of decentralized initiatives.

Overall, the episode encapsulates a narrative of empowerment, resilience, and communal strength within the cryptocurrency realm, painting a portrait of decentralized platforms like Hive as vanguards of autonomy and innovation in the face of centralized hegemony. The potential film project emerges as a beacon to illuminate these narratives, aiming to inspire and educate audiences about the transformative potential of decentralized economies and community-led initiatives within the blockchain ecosystem.
