Bills With Intrinsic Value? | Fiddy Goldbacks!

Gold To Zero, Really?

20210318 08_31_10Pomp 🌪 on Twitter_ _There is a higher likelihood that gold goes to 0 than Bitc.png

Don't get me wrong, I love Bitcoin, but few people disagree with the chance that a black swan event could kill Bitcoin and reduce its value to zero. Is there a similar event that could render gold completely worthless? I doubt it, even abundant metals like iron are not worthless. Let's be reasonable here. In any case Russia and China until recently had been huge purchasers of gold, and the Polish central bank plans to add 100 tons to its coffers (source), so I doubt we'll see Bitcoin completely overtake gold as a store of value in our lifetimes. At least not from a nation-state perspective.

Fiddy Goldbacks

And now on to the star attraction. I picked up these 50 Goldback notes to round out my collection from both Utah and Nevada. They are 1/20th of an ounce of gold each, and of course feel much heftier than the smaller notes.

New Hampshire

I just discovered that the New Hampshire edition is now available on APMEX, so it looks like I'll be picking that set up next! It might be a little while before I pick them up though, so I can wait for gold to get a bit closer to zero!

You might want to trade your gold for silver, no news of silver mountains out there, and the grand canyon is supposed to have billions of ounces of gold.

They have been lying about the scarcity of gold all along.

Lying about the scarcity of diamonds is the equivalent, in order to manipulate investment interest and fuel a market. So many examples exist of such ploys.

Yes, absolutely, if you want gems, get emeralds, they are geologically rare.
Even investment grade turquoise is better than diamonds.
Every extinct volcano has tons of diamonds in it.

Benitoite is a better investment. Extremely rare California state gem with a refractive index(fire) equal to or higher than diamond.

Benitoite

Good to know.

Don't let DeBeers see you spreading that truth around...!!!😎

Does that mean a 'silver mountain' doesn't exist? I read that same thing 'Mountain made of gold' sounds a bit hyperbolic. I have yet to see any sort of report from an actual geologist indicating how many tons are there, and what impact that has on the inflation.

In any case, my allocation to precious metals is small. I refuse to put 100% of my capital and faith into computer software.

I think the silver bonanza is on the moon.
I just hate the waiting to get over the selling fees, glad I haven't been hoarding it for 20 years.

Yes, some Utah GoldBacks have been turning up in the Local Coin Shop, in my neighborhood. Thanks for showing @joshman.

I don't think it would be that easy to make the value of Bitcoin go zero. Indeed, that's bold and arrogant. I doubt it will happen but let's see what will happen.

Will you be buying the collection?

I have the entire utah and nevada, I just need the entire NH.

You can lease them (or buy them) with APR paid monthly! You can choose to have these vaulted (free of charge), delivered to you, or cashed out at current market value!

At least a Billion Chinese may disagree even if the power stays on.

Pomps livelihood depends on pumping coins. Gold will always have important use cases and value.
