If you are using Peakd, you may have come across this notification on the bottom right side of the screen. This is if your account is older than hive, like mine.
Today, I will try to use this feature via peakd and show you exactly how to do it.
But why does someone need a recovery account?
This is necessary in case someone takes control of your keys, then there is a way to recover your account.
Attention though. If you loose your keys, there is absolutely no way of recovering your accounts - or funds. EVER.
So, let's see what this 'Change Now' does!
After you click it, you will be transferred to this page:
https://peakd.com/@yourusername/permissions?select=recovery
Please note:
If you don't have a suitable account to set as your recovery account you can use this service created by @arcange: https://recovery.hivechain.app. Please be sure to read and understand how it works on this post.
Important: FOR SECURITY REASONS ALL CHANGES TO THE RECOVERY ACCOUNT WILL BE PROCESSED 30 DAYS AFTER THE UPDATE.
Clicking on 'CHANGE RECOVER ACCOUNT' will get you to this screen
This is the screen that will appear to you!
Please make sure to visit this post for further information or assistance.
Kindly note that I am not an expert in this, I also have some queries, for instance -
Where do you go if you have successfully changed your recovery account, and then comes a moment when you need to start the recovery process?
If anyone would like to share their experience or the link to a post they know, please post below!
Together we learn, together we become strong!
Thank you for visiting!
