Looking at that account as an example, you'll find several accounts with 10 HP and no activity. Scaled up across the entirety of Hive, you'll find several instances of inactive HP. Good you have a timer. Others don't and it sits idle.#fact

I've stated on a few occasions delegations should automatically expire after 12 months, similar to witness votes. People lose keys or pass away while others enjoy the benefits of their stake. I see this as a problem.

The point I'm trying to make in this thread is even you folks would be better off delegating RC and maintaining control of your HP. Especially since it's the RC they need and the RC is the reason you delegate. HP delegation is money wasted.

Everything I'm saying stems from observing reality. Using my brain to collect data. By clicking on accounts at random I discovered many were inactive, therefore that HP is standing idle and will remain that way until changes go into effect.

Statistically speaking, some of that HP is standing idle or ineffective. Therefore the total HP delegated is not as effective as its true potential. Reality backs up my claim.

Following the context of this thread. If I delegate 100HP to 100, statistically speaking that 10k HP is less effective than if 1 controls it since some sits idle 100% of the time if 100 control it. Evidence of this claim has been provided.

HP sitting idle=wasted money. RC sitting idle=not wasted money. I have way more RC than I'll ever need but I'm shooting myself in the foot delegating HP to provide RC.

Also better for ecosystem if HP is purchased rather than given.

Context of this thread: In this scenario you'd have more HP to vote with, only provide HP @ no cost once they become active if you voted for their post; a post that can only happen with RC delegation 1st.
Cause and effect. Less waste. UC?

From business perspective, if people are using your money to create accounts but not using your products, your business is being used and their actions come at a cost to you. RC delegation naturally acts as a loss prevention mechanism.

My personal experience: I've been burned every time I've delegated HP to new members. They quit before the training wheels can come off or cash out the earnings taking advantage of the free transactions provided rather than powering up.

A few more clicks and I noticed leo.voter is delegating 10HP to active accounts with enough earned HP of their own. Also noticed a couple using delegated HP for wallet transactions and gaming only. This adds up and you're paying for it.

I suggest RC delegation and a script that pulls it once it detects HP in the wallet combined with a clear message that's what will happen when creating the account. Also make it clear free RC available for limited time only. Set a time.

Yep we are working on this, it's jut not ready yet

That's good. Side note, I noticed a lot of your premium members are renewing manually. No need with the recurring transfer feature as long as they have the funds. Could pay automatically for however many months and cancel at any time...

I see it's available in keychain. That approach and the simplicity often encourages people to subscribe and pay for things for longer periods of time. Works in the background, they forget they're even paying.
