Supercharging Hive Engagement | How I Respond to Hundreds of Comments & Threads Each Day

We spent the month of May rolling out a ridiculous number of updates. The updates were primarily focused on bug fixes and making the UI/UX on LeoFinance's new UI smooth.

If you compare the UI from May 1st to today (the day it launched), then you'll see a radical improvement in the UI. Almost unrecognizable.

The month of June brings us back to major UI and feature rollouts. We've already rolled out a stupid amount of updates and many of you are busy playing with them.

To name a few:

1. New Publisher UI
2. New Articles UI
3. New Notifications UI
4. Settings Page
   ....

Today, let's focus on the new notifications UI and how it's allowing me to (finally) catch up on all my Threads and Comments.

My Strategy for Engaging on Threads & Blog Comments

I've formulated a little strategy for engaging with everyone who replies to my threads, blog posts or even @ mentions my username anywhere on Hive.

Here, I'll share a little step-by-step on how you can follow it too. I think it makes engagement on Hive super easy and seamless.

1). Go to the Notifications Page, Filter Replies & Mentions

Head to the notifications page and tick the boxes for Replies and Mentions.

2). Open Each Notification in a New Tab

Depending on how your computer is setup, you want to open each notification in a new tab. For me, I can easily do this by clicking the scroll wheel on my mouse while hovering over the link.

Other methods depend on your keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl + shift + click may work. Otherwise, you can just right click and then "Open in new tab".

Repeat this for each notification, continuing to scroll down as far as you want to go back.

3). Mark as Read

Your screen is now going to look like the following image. You'll have tons of tabs open and you can quickly jump into each one, reply and then close the tab. I like to use ctrl + w to shortcut and close the tab I'm on and then it presents me with the next one.

You can also hit "Mark as Read" at the top of the Notifications Page. Do this and then you'll see the magic when you get your next notification. It will separate "Read" from "Unread" notifications.

If you do all of this right, then you'll respond to every previous notification and then mark your spot so that you can come back later and know which new notifications to restart the process with and which ones you've already "Read".

We also added this real-time, live notifications pop-up system. It needs a few more updates - right now, the notis don't disappear on their own but they are supposed to, so they can clutter your screen.

They also aren't clickable (yet). They are useful, however, to see when you should visit your notifications page to checkout a response or upvote.

The Future of Hive Engagement

The future of engaging on Hive has arrived. We have a ridiculous number of updates on the way including support for other Hive communities.

Our goal is to build the everything app on Hive. Everything you do on Hive can be done on Leo. This all leads to more ad revenue for LEO which ultimately gets driven back into the LEO token buys through the decentralized LeoAds smart contract.
