Cool, but what's Creator Coins?

Think of them as your own digital fan token on Zora! Your profile becomes a coin (like $Knowhow92) that people can buy and trade. Every time you post something on Zora (video, photo, meme), it gets linked to your creator coin. That means when people collect your posts, the demand for your coin grows.

The more people engage with your content, the more your creator coin can gain value. Half of the coin supply is reserved for the creator and unlocks slowly over time (5 years), so the more creators create and engage, the more they earn the trust of their fanbase and benefit. Also, creators earn a small trading fee from every trade, which is cool too!

Why Launch a Creator Coin?

I actually find this Creator Coin experiment a really cool way to grow my Web3 branding while monetizing my content more and rewarding my fans at the same time!

As a die-hard Web3 content creator for over 7 years, I’m here to stay. And those who follow my journey already know that. Having my own token tied to how well I do in the Web3 economy is a great motivation to keep pushing, evolve my skills, and create better content, cause now there are people hodling my coin, backing me, and basically “betting” on me!

Sure, I’m not a huge creator or a big name in the Web3 space, but I do believe what I do (building @skatehive and @epirus.dao, onboarding shredders, creating content) brings value and fun to the blockchain ecosystem. A token tied to my personal growth just makes sense in my head!

I mean, I already bought a few Creator Coins from builders I believe in and I consider myself a builder too. There are definitely more people out there who think like me, so this feels like a solid opportunity for every creator to tokenize their actions and get some extra support and reach from like-minded people!

My Creator Coin Plan

I just started my Zora Creator Coin journey, so I need to test and see what works and what doesn't, but one thing's for sure... I'm bringing more eyes to Hive through Zora!

The current plan is to create 1–3 short skate video teasers on Zora every week, leading to my full skateboarding videos on Skatehive.app! Skateboarding is cool, and I believe Zora users will enjoy my style and want to check out the full edits, bringing more traffic to Skatehive (and Hive overall).

Creator Economy is an Ongoing Experiment

The Creator Coin thing might end up being worth it or not, only time will tell! Everything in Web3 is experimental anyway. What’s trending today might not exist in two years.

One thing’s for sure though! Platforms like Zora and features like Creator Coins open creative, community-driven, and monetizable paths that didn’t exist in Web2.
