Hive is becoming a network state

This is a concept that is worthy of exploring. It provides a framework from which to operate.

1/ The foundation is going in place for what can ultimately become a global, voluntary system that ends up attracting people from all over the world. It will be a part of the Web 3.0 shift, i.e. the spatial web.

2/ When we look at individual components such as governance, currency, economy, commerce, and finance, we can see the tentacles starting to expand. This will continue as new layers are built on top.

3/ The merging with the digital and physical is crucial. While we cannot predict the future with certainty, it is a belief (also held by me) that the present government system is out of date and doomed.

4/ It only makes sense that networks will step in where nations once where. Obviously, we cannot ignore the physical as it is part of biology and we have to be somewhere.

5/ That said, simply basing our existence on our geography is not the future. We see how the digital realm is becoming even more important in our daily lives. It also allows for opportunities never seen before.

This is very deep. We're gonna build and build and build on here without fear.

Interesting Definition, it can be also Digital State, but Network state also feels good for what hive offers as a platform.

🧵 1. The Reserve Bank of India retains its projection for Indian crude oil basket price at $85/bbl despite global supply cuts by OPEC, Saudi Arabia, and Russia #finance

🧵 2. Geopolitical tensions and demand-supply refinery mismatches contribute to the elevated wedge between global petroleum product prices and crude prices

🧵 3. Upside risks to global crude prices due to geopolitical hostilities and OPEC supply cuts could impact domestic inflation and growth

🧵 4. OPEC's next meeting on Nov 26 will determine if output cuts will be extended beyond December as market conditions are closely assessed

🧵 5. Improved supply from non-OPEC countries and easing of geopolitical tensions may lead to a pullback in crude oil prices, impacting inflation and growth

2🧵AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho says he will eventually work in the Saudi Pro League.

1🧵Giroud played as goalkeeper at the end of Milan's win and kept clean sheet

1🧵Eric ten Hag reveals he substituted Casemiro because he 'wanted more football'

3🧵United came back from 1-0 down to beat Brentford 2-1 courtesy of two Scott McTominay goals in added time.

2🧵Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed he took off defensive midfielder Casemiro for Christian Eriksen because he 'wanted more football'.

5🧵However McTominay's goals saved United's blushes, and boss ten Hag has spoken about his decision to hook defensive midfielder Casemiro at half-time for Christian Eriksen.

9🧵We kept patient and carried on. I'm really proud of this team, they kept going the whole game. The belief was there.

6🧵Ten Hag explained his decision was because he 'wanted more football' with his side a goal down heading into the half-time break.

10🧵'This has to be a turning point but also it has to be a restart because we have to get into higher levels.'

7🧵The manager also went on to reveal: 'You are relieved in that moment when once again a game that was turning the wrong way for us, we found a turning point,

11🧵United take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane next weekend, before facing FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

1🧵Roma coach Mourinho: I want to work in Saudi Pro League

3🧵Mourinho hinted at turning down a massive offer from Al-Hilal over the summer, but now says he has plans to eventually move to the SPL.

4🧵He said, "I go to Saudi Arabia when I have time off at some point.

4🧵But, roughly 23 minutes later, and Bareal scored off a fine save made by Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callendar to gift all three points to Cincinnati - the No. 1 seed of MLS' Eastern Conference.

5🧵Inter Miami (9-17-6, 33 points) were eliminated from playoff contention due to their loss combined with CF Montreal's win over the Portland Timbers.

2🧵Inter Miami have been eliminated from the MLS playoffs. After their October 21st match, Inter Miami will NOT play another MLS game until late February.

6🧵Messi, 36, played on Saturday evening for the first time since September 20, after missing two weeks with a reaggravated scar tissue injury in his leg.

8🧵As a result, he was condemned to his very first loss as an Inter Miami player. Up until Saturday night's game, the team had avoided defeat in all 12 of his appearances, only coming unstuck when he was unavailable.

10🧵It wasn’t victory or defeat in the Champions League final that would’ve decided my life, I already knew what I was going to do, and I wanted to go to Real Madrid.

10🧵Roman Celentano made two saves for Cincinnati. Callender had five saves for Miami.

8🧵 I had an incredible relationship, not only with the president, but also with his wife and children.

11🧵Inter Miami had possession for 61.6 percent of the game, but just two of their 16 shot attempts were on target.

5🧵with just three trophies won during that time (1x La Liga, 1x Copa del Rey and 1x Spanish Super Cup).

9🧵FC Cincinnati (20-5-8, 68 points) continued the best season in their young franchise history. They had already clinched the Supporters' Shield for the league's best record in the regular season.

7🧵“I’m always very honest with others and with myself. I could have gone to Real Madrid after my first season with Inter, but I had signed to stay more than a year.

6🧵Mourinho won the same amount of titles in his final season at Inter, and speaking to Sky Sports Italia (via Football Italia), he opened up on the circumstances surrounding his move to Real Madrid.

12🧵“I refused to sign the contract with Real Madrid before the final against Bayern Munich, but I was afraid to go back to Milan because of the emotions.”

11🧵“The opportunity came for the second time and I wanted to go, it was a moment in my career where I told myself I had to. They’re the biggest club in the world, but I wanted to finish at Inter by winning the Serie A title.

2🧵Giroud played as goalkeeper at the end of Milan's game over Genoa after Maignan was sent off during injury time.

8🧵'It showed the big character in this team, the resilience, and that we have a plan to keep going and you have to make your own luck.

1🧵Inter Miami 0-1 Cincinnati: Messi subs on & returns but his side fall to defeat

12🧵Inter Miami controlled play in the first half and hit the woodwork on three separate occasions.

13🧵Aviles hit the crossbar head-on from the center of the box, Josef Martinez pinged the far post with a shot and Benjamin Cremaschi's close-range shot went off the crossbar before the end of the scoreless first half.

16🧵But Barreal was charging in on that side and easily deposited it in the net for his fifth goal of the season.

14🧵When Messi came on, 10 minutes after halftime, he quickly won a free kick in scoring range in the 59th minute, but he sent his attempt well over the crossbar.

18🧵Messi drew two late fouls near the box, one in the 90th minute and one in stoppage time. On the first free kick, Messi tried to cross the ball in to a teammate and Cincinnati cleared it, setting up a fruitless Miami corner kick.

19🧵On the latter, Messi's shot at goal went over the bar again. Miami ends it season as champions of the League Cup, runners-up of the U.S. Open Cup and in 14th place out of 15 in the MLS' Eastern Conference.

20🧵Only Toronto (4-10-19, 22 points) trail the Herons in the league. Since Messi's July debut, Inter Miami only won one of the six games he missed and only lost one of the 13 he's played in.

1🧵Terry claims an ex-Chelsea youth star is 'the best footballer to never make it'

2🧵John Terry knows better than most what it takes to make the grade at a major Premier League club like Chelsea.

3🧵Having appeared 717 times for the Blues across 19 years of service, Terry is an undisputed club legend at Stamford Bridge.

4🧵The defender captained Chelsea as they won five Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League across a glittering career.

5🧵That success may never have been achieved if Terry had not grasped the opportunity when he made his debut as a 17-year-old in 1998.

6🧵He graduated from the youth ranks to make an appearance as a substitute in a League Cup tie against Aston Villa.

8🧵When asked who was the most talented player to not make the grade In an Instagram Live in 2020, Terry responded: 'He was like a midfielder/winger, had so much ability.

9🧵'He got chosen to train with the first team at a really young age, 17 or 18, did really well and [Ruud] Gullit told him he was going to play in the first team in a cup game.

7🧵However, one of Terry's team-mates in the underage teams was an even greater prospect according to the former England captain.

10🧵'He then phoned up on the day of the game and said he was sick.

11🧵'All of us, if we were sick or felt like we were at the end of the world, we would have still gone and played the game, we wouldn't have given up that opportunity.

13🧵Although Terry still has a clear memory of his one-time team-mate, even Chelsea fans could be forgiven for not remembering Rob Wolleaston.

14🧵The Ealing-born midfielder made his first appearance for the Blues just months after Terry, in a League Cup tie against Huddersfield Town.

12🧵'He actually done it two or three times and he was just not mentally ready for the game, but ability-wise, incredible.'

15🧵Gullit had left Chelsea by the time Wolleaston made his debut, meaning it was Gianluca Vialli who gave him his big break.

16🧵Wolleaston made his Premier League debut for Chelsea as a late substitute against Sunderland a few weeks later.

17🧵He never featured again for the club though, joining Bristol Rovers for the second part of the 1999-2000 season in the first of a series of loans away from Stamford Bridge.

20/20 🧵 Wolleaston retired in 2014 following three seasons at Harrow Borough.

19🧵An uneventful one-season stint at Valley Parade was followed by 12 months at Oxford United before the former youth team prodigy dropped into non-league football.

1🧵Arsenal's record against Man City is SHOCKING but Rodri and De Bruyne absent

2🧵When Arsenal beat Manchester City with a late smash and grab in August's Community Shield, we dared to believe Pep Guardiola's all-conquering team might have lost some of their sparkle.

6🧵But City then won their opening six league games to take the early championship lead and it just seemed like more of the same. There was even talk of them winning every single game.

4🧵Having invested heavily in new players, Arsenal, who'd pushed City fairly close in last season's Premier League title race, looked best-equipped to challenge City again.

7🧵That fantasy notion was crushed last weekend when City were surprisingly beaten 2-1 at Wolves as Guardiola watched on from the Molineux stands while serving a one-match suspension.

5🧵Their penalty shoot-out win at Wembley, after Leonardo Trossard's 101st-minute equaliser, gave optimism to all in the chasing pack.

8🧵Although City recovered in midweek with a 3-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, there's a real sense Arsenal could get the better of them at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

9🧵Many believe this season's Premier League needs them to. City have such quality and such a fear factor about them they could storm away with it, taking the entertainment factor with them.

10🧵But the starts made by not only Arsenal but also Tottenham and Liverpool suggests that won't necessarily be the case.

11🧵If Arsenal can inflict a rare second consecutive league defeat on City, we'll all pack up for the international fortnight with genuine belief we'll get an exciting title race.

12🧵It would strike a significant psychological blow for the Gunners - prior to that shoot-out win in the Community Shield, they'd lost eight consecutive meetings with City, conceding 21 times.

13🧵It's even worse in the Premier League - Arsenal have lost their last 12 meetings with City, scoring just five times and conceding 33.

14🧵For supposed title rivals, City's 3-1 and 4-1 wins last season made a mockery of Arsenal's credentials.

15🧵A major source of optimism for Arsenal is the absence of Rodri, who serves the third and final match of his suspension for grabbing Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White around the throat.

16🧵For all City's constellation of stars, they remain pretty reliant on the Spaniard and his absence was definitely a factor at Wolves last weekend.

19🧵City have alternatives, of course. Rico Lewis will probably step into midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic having done so against Leipzig but it isn't quite the same.

18🧵Rodri doesn't miss too many matches but when he does, it seems to be a problem for City. Put it this way, Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard will be happy Rodri is missing.

20🧵Another plus for Arsenal is the absence of a real nemesis - Kevin De Bruyne.

23🧵De Bruyne simply thrives on big occasions such as this and Arsenal will be grateful he's out with a hamstring injury.

25🧵Jeremy Doku, 21, looks right at home in City blue as well, scoring and assisting in Germany on Wednesday night.

26🧵Sure, Arsenal will need a number of City players to have off-days but the absence of Rodri and De Bruyne undoubtedly gives them a greater chance.

27🧵This is tempered by the injury Bukayo Saka suffered against Lens in midweek. It remains to be seen whether he can play any part on Sunday and any absence would be a big blow.

28🧵The first player in Europe's top five leagues to record five goals and five assists this season, Saka simply offers so much threat.

24🧵The bad news is that City always have a decent plan B and of late we've seen Julian Alvarez dropping deep to great effect, firing in shots and linking up with Haaland.

29🧵Fabio Vieira may be pressed into action on the right side if Saka doesn't make it and that really won't be the same threat.

31🧵Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus will have to poke holes in City's formidable defensive line.

30🧵The game could be won and lost in those direct moments and few are better at taking on defenders than Saka. Vieira won't carry that threat, being more methodical.

32🧵At Wolves, there was something a little off about City's body language. They very occasionally have a game where they don't look themselves.

33/33🧵Arsenal will hope their quality forces them into another, offering hope of an exciting season.

1🧵Messi's bodyguard grabs young fan as he sprints onto field to meet Miami captain

6🧵Chueko, the former US soldier personally selected by David Beckham to protect Messi, stopped him from going any further before pulling him away from his star client.

4🧵Messi and Miami's hopes of reaching the MLS playoffs came to an end - with a 1-0 home defeat by Cincinnati ensuring their season is all but over - a fan was seen sprinting onto the field at DRV PNK Stadium in an attempt to meet his hero.

2🧵Lionel Messi's personal bodyguard has become famous in recent months for watching over the Inter Miami captain like a man possessed.

5🧵As he made a beeline for Messi, bodyguard Yassine Chueko quickly reacted to stop the boy on his tracks.

9🧵Messi's bodyguard has become somewhat of an online sensation since being recruited by Beckham, and fans quickly took to social media to heap praise on him for making the young boy's day.

10🧵One put: 'He’s amazing'.

Another wrote: 'Awww! A good bodyguard there!

''What a legend,' wrote a third.

While another simply said: 'That kid will never forget this moment'.

11🧵According to La Nacion, Chueko is a former Navy Seal who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He is also said to have expertise in martial arts, taekwondo and boxing after participating in several MMA fights.

12🧵Inter Miami co-owner Beckham reportedly hired him specifically when searching for a bodyguard for Messi, a decision made amid the rising number of pitch invaders in recent years.

1🧵Arsenal star Zinchenko insists he 'stands with Israel' on social media

2🧵Arsenal full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko decided to restrict his Instagram profile from the public after being targeted by online social media trolls.

5🧵Zinchenko has been a voice of support for his home nation of Ukraine during their ongoing conflict with Russia after Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale invasion that first began in February last year.

4🧵Over the weekend, Hamas militants launched rocket strikes on Israel and invaded parts of the country, killing civilians and kidnapping others with swift retaliation later following.

6🧵The Arsenal defender - who has been busy preparing for Sunday's Premier League encounter against Manchester City - demonstrated his unity with Israel in similar fashion to many world leaders by posting an image on his Instagram story.

7🧵Showing the Star of David - a religious symbol recognised by the Jewish community which is Israel's main religion - the story update read: 'I stand with Israel'.

8🧵However, his post opened the floodgates for anonymous abusers to target Zinchenko with outrageous retorts that show the dark side of social media.

3🧵The Ukrainian joined millions of online users around the world posting heartfelt messages of support for Israel, but was quickly subjected to vile abuse.

9🧵The 26-year-old previously featured in a Game4Ukraine charity match stage at Stamford Bridge in August and used to help raise money to aid the war-torn nation.

11🧵Another commented: 'Same guy wants us to have sympathy with his beloved Ukraine. Disgusting.'

10🧵His beliefs have this time come under attack with one profile hiding behind an image of someone else, replying to Zinchenko's update: 'Funny how he’s the one crying about what Russia are doing to Ukraine.'

12🧵A third profile on Twitter drew comparisons to Mason Greenwood who was previously arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and assault last year before the charges were eventually dropped by the Crown Prosecution service.

13🧵The online post read: 'Greenwood aside Zinchenko is easily the most unlikeable footballer around.'

14🧵A third comment from a Manchester City supporter stated: 'He is one of the most unlikeable footballers out there.'

16🧵Footballers use their social media profiles to push sponsorship deals and connect with supporters and Zinchenko boasts 2.5million Instagram followers at the time of publication.

15🧵Zinchenko reacted to the online vitriol by making the surprising decision to restrict his Instagram account to private and take down the story update.

17/17 🧵Other athletes have previously weighed in on the feud between Israel and Palestine with Riyad Mahrez, Mo Salah and Mesut Ozil making public social media statements two-years ago calling for an end to military violence in the region.

1🧵Eden Hazard’s brother urges ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea star to retire – “He deserves to spend time with his family”

2🧵At the end of last season, Real Madrid came to an agreement with Eden Hazard, which would see the Belgian winger cancel his contract with the club one year early.

5🧵There have been reports of clubs being interested in signing him, but nothing has materialised so far. The possibility of retirement has also been floated

3🧵He had not been in favour with head coach Carlo Ancelotti for much of the previous two years, so it seemed a sensible decision.

7🧵“At the moment he’s not moving, but I don’t know if his career is over. If he makes a final decision, it will be up to him to say so.

4🧵Since then, there has been very little movement on the transfer front for Hazard, despite him being a free agent.

9/🧵“He still loves football, it has always been his greatest passion and that’s why he gave everything for every team he played for.

8🧵Eden is in Madrid, because his children go to school there and he has decided to relax for now. He is trying to enjoy life for now.

12/12🧵It remains to be seen whether Hazard does decide to hang up his boots, but it’s unlikely that a decision will be taking any time soon.

10🧵He did everything he could and won trophies at every club he played for, including Real Madrid.

1🧵Pape Sarr opens up on his journey and claims he 'owes it all to his family'

2🧵Tottenham midfielder Pape Sarr has opened up on his 'beautiful experience' of football in Senegal and his journey to the Premier League.

4🧵He began his career at the legendary Generation Foot in Dakar, which has produced a host of other Premier League names including Sadio Mane, Papiss Cisse, Ismaïla Sarr and Diafra Sakho.

3🧵Aged just 21, Sarr has been a key cog for Ange Postecoglou's table-topping Tottenham side this season, appearing in every game so far.

5🧵Sarr's earliest football experiences came earlier in Senegal's third city, as he told the Premier League: 'My first contact with football was in Thies where I grew up in Senegal.

6🧵I grew up in a footballing family, they drilled a hard-working mentality into me regarding football. They always prepared me to be successful.

7🧵My dad was a manager. I was afraid of the comments he was going to make about me. It was a plus for me as he was often giving advice after games.'

10🧵'I went through the Generation Foot academy. We would arrive Monday and return home Saturday. We were young lads. It felt like we were a real family. Everyday we were together, it was such a beautiful experience.'

8🧵Sarr has since gone on to represent his country 15 times and picked up an African Cup of Nations win while still a teenager.

9🧵He was unequivocal on who had inspired his achievements, adding: 'Even in Senegal I left my family at a young age to live in Dakar. It's not easy being so far away. I owe it all to my family, they're a huge part of my success.

13🧵He named Yves Bissouma as a particular influence and referred to him as his 'big brother' who had been 'incredible' in his support.

15🧵They were made to work in their last game against Luton after going down to 10 men on the stroke of half-time, but clung on for an important 1-0 win after a goal from Micky van de Ven.

16🧵Tottenham will next be in action after the international break when they take on Fulham on Monday, October 23.

3🧵Upon return from the international break, Barcelona – among others – will have a Champions League double-header against Shakhtar Donetsk,

4🧵but their biggest match will be against Real Madrid, which takes place on the 28th of October at the Olympic Stadium.

5🧵With Frenkie de Jong expected to be out, and Pedri only just likely to be returning from injury, it will be imperative for Gavi to be available for El Clasico.

6🧵However, as Sport have reported, he is walking a suspension tightrope, having already been booked three times in La Liga.

7🧵Yellow cards against Granada and Athletic Club would rule Gavi out of the Real Madrid match, which would be a significant blow for Barcelona, especially with the aforementioned lack of options for Xavi.

9🧵Gavi has been in excellent form for Barcelona this season, having been played in his natural midfield role in recent weeks.

2🧵Juventus are expected to enter contract termination talks with Paul Pogba.

1🧵Allegri confirms that Juventus to enter contract termination talks with Pogba

3🧵It's been confirmed today that Pogba's counter-analysis of a failed doping sample has now shown the original testing was correct.

5🧵Juve are now expected to discuss contract termination with Pogba, whose current salary has dropped from €8m to €27,300 due to his original provisional suspension.

6/6🧵A playing ban is now expected for a range of two to four years. The matter is set to be taken to court, with Pogba insisting he took the illegal substance unknowingly.

2🧵Wayne Rooney remains high on Birmingham’s list of possible managers should John Eustace ever leave the club.

3🧵The former England captain has now left his role as manager of Major League Soccer club DC United and retains strong connections in the English game.

5🧵The 43-year-old took charge in summer 2022 and led the club to comfortable survival against a backdrop of financial uncertainty.

7🧵Birmingham are sixth in the Championship heading into the international break, though Eustace has yet to be offered a new deal with his current contract expiring in 2025.

8🧵He appeared particularly emotional after the third goal in the 3-1 over West Bromwich Albion.

4🧵Eustace’s stock is on the rise after leading Birmingham - co-owned by NFL great Tom Brady - to sixth in the Championship after 11 games.

9🧵The new ownership group includes Brady and the seven-time Super Bowl winner attended the home game against Leeds in August.

10🧵Rooney announced his departure from Washington overnight. He said: 'I think it’s just the right time. I’ve done everything I can to try and get the club into the playoffs.

13🧵'And then, what lies ahead? Whether opportunities come up? I’ve seen a lot of reports in the media. I don’t have anything lined up.

1🧵Napoli 'eye up Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus' as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen

12🧵'I just feel like it’s the right time for me to go back to England, first to obviously see my family. I haven’t seen them for a long time.

4🧵The goals have continued this season, but his future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is uncertain after a row over the club's TikTok.

3🧵Osimhen was a big part of the Italian side's first Serie A title in 33 years last season, as he topped the league scoring charts with 26 goals.

2🧵Napoli are 'considering Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus' as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen.

5🧵Osimhen was the subject of two offensive clips shared on the popular social media app, with the first seemingly deriding him for missing a penalty last month. The second then labelled him a 'coconut' & has been viewed as a racial slur.

6🧵His agent threatened to sue the Serie A side in the wake of the fallout and Napoli responded by insisting that no offence was intended, though they did not apologise. Napoli's social media executive has since stepped down from his role.

7🧵The incident has left a January exit for Oismhen very likely, and Napoli appear to be searching for a replacement already.

10🧵He is a key forward for the Gunners due to his pace, strength and hold-up play, although he can be wasteful in front of goal.

11🧵David has been among the brighter strikers in France over the past few seasons and scored 26 goals across all competitions for Lille last season.

9🧵Jesus was hampered by injuries in his first season at Arsenal but still scored 11 goals in 26 league games as they finished second in the league.

12🧵At just 23, the Canada international is the youngest of Napoli's three targets and potenitally the one with the highest ceiling.

1🧵Alexia Putellas on the brink of breaking all-time Barcelona record

4🧵They are going for four-in-a-row on Sunday when they host Real Sociedad at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

5🧵Putellas, who made her 400th appearance for Barcelona Femeni during the victory over Valencia on Thursday, is eyeing up a club record.

3🧵Putellas will be eyeing up another successful season with Barcelona, and the Catalans have started with three straight wins at the start of the 2023-24 campaign.

7/7🧵Hermoso has 181, with Putellas just behind on 180. A goal against Real Sociedad Femenino would allow her to equal the record, while two or more would see her enter the Barcelona record books on her own.

1🧵Mauricio Pochettino believes victory at Burnley will boost Chelsea’s confidence

3🧵Raheem Sterling, again snubbed by England, starred as Chelsea responded to Wilson Odobert’s surprise early strike for the Clarets,

5🧵An own goal from Ameen Al-Dakhil, Cole Palmer’s penalty, Sterling’s strike and a Nicolas Jackson goal made it back-to-back league wins for the first time since March

6🧵 for Chelsea and three straight in all competitions for a side still trying to find their way under Pochettino.

2🧵Mauricio Pochettino believes Saturday’s 4-1 come-from-behind win at Burnley can be worth much more to Chelsea than simply three points.

4🧵having a hand in all four goals as Pochettino’s side ultimately ran out comfortable winners on a ground where they have still never lost a Premier League match.

7🧵Coming into the match, Chelsea had failed to win any of the previous 19 league matches in which they had conceded first,

9🧵“Always when you concede first and you need to break down the opponent always you feel proud when you achieve that,” Pochettino said.

10🧵“The team were playing well and with the chances conceded in a situation that was completely unfair, but the team were really good, solid, the whole team.”

11🧵Given the upturn in Chelsea’s form, the international break is perhaps badly-timed from their perspective,

13🧵Although Wesley Fofana and Christopher Nkunku are long-term absentees; Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, and Trevor Chalobah should all come back into the frame for that match,

17🧵“After two victories it is much better but I think we will keep pushing, working hard to be better in the next months.”

18🧵It was another tough afternoon for Burnley, who have now equalled the unwanted record of five consecutive home defeats to start a top-flight season,

19🧵something only previously suffered by Manchester United in 1930-31, Portsmouth in 2009-10, Bolton Wanderers in 2011-12 and Newcastle United in 2018-19.

15🧵“We want to improve players and try to recover the players that were injured,” Pochettino said when asked what he wanted to take from the next fortnight.

16🧵“The next two weeks we’re going to spend working on the training ground with a different mood from the last months.

20🧵Vincent Kompany saw his Burnley side equal an unwanted top-flight record with the home defeat

21🧵All but Newcastle went on to suffer relegation, and although Vincent Kompany can point to a brutal fixture list which has already seen both Manchester clubs, Tottenham and Aston Villa visit before Chelsea, he knows it must change fast.

22🧵“It’s got to be a tough place always,” Kompany said. “To say that at Turf Moor you get the three points against all these teams, I’ve been in the game long enough to know that’s not the case.

23🧵“I had that feeling against United (a 1-0 defeat) where until the last minute you’re in the game. It’s being close that’s important.

25🧵There were positives for Kompany to pick out, however, most obviously the sight of Odobert marking his first Premier League start by becoming Burnley’s youngest scorer in the competition at the age of 18 and 313 days.

26🧵“He has the advantage of being such a young player,” Kompany said. “He’s 18 so he can almost do nothing wrong… with wingers,

28/28🧵“That’s what we’ve had with Wilson and (Luca) Koleosho and those are guys who are only going to get better.”

27🧵sometimes you get away with being a bit younger because speed and the threat one-v-one always gives you something to think about.

3🧵with just one matches all season long were they haven’t been victorious (defeat vs Atletico Madrid).

2🧵Real Madrid are in a great place at the moment. Two wins out of two in the Champions League, and they also sit top of the La Liga after nine matches played,

4🧵While the club is in very good stead, one of its key players is having a tough time.

6🧵He was benched by Carlo Ancelotti for Saturday’s victory over Osasuna, in which his replacement Joselu Mato found the back of the net once again.

7🧵After the match, Rodrygo took to social media to ask for forgiveness, while also re-confirming that he will continue to work hard to break his barren run in front of goal.

10/10 🧵There’s no doubt that Rodrygo has been trying his hardest for Real Madrid this season, and he has not had luck go his way so far. He will hope that the international break will allow him to reset, before going again in two weeks.

1🧵Diogo Dalot urges Man United to make Brentford fightback a ‘turning point’

2🧵Diogo Dalot believes the stunning late turnaround against Brentford can be a watershed moment in Manchester United’s season.

3🧵Erik ten Hag’s men were staring down the barrel of a third Old Trafford defeat in eight days as Saturday’s Premier League match headed into second-half stoppage time.

6🧵Trailing at 92 minutes 46 seconds, this was United’s latest ever Premier League comeback and Dalot echoed manager Ten Hag’s view that Saturday must be “a turning point” in their season.

8🧵“I think the way that we won – obviously I didn’t mind scoring a few goals earlier than the 90 minutes – but I think it shows we are here to fight, we are here to suffer together.

7🧵“I think it means a little bit more than three points for us after these last couple of weeks,” the Portugal right-back said.

10🧵“That’s how it’s meant to be to be as a Manchester United player and today I think was proof we can fight until the end.”

11🧵United dug deep at Old Trafford, where after the game Ten Hag bemoaned a lack of hunger during their meek, error-strewn start to the season.

12🧵Those issues were clear in Tuesday’s 3-2 Champions League defeat at home to Galatasaray, increasing the external focus on Old Trafford that Dalot has previously called a “killing machine”.

15🧵“We always do that, but especially coming into the game, feeling like we had to be a proper team.

14🧵“We focused on what we have to do tactically.

16🧵“Obviously we controlled the game, we created chances, we could have scored goals, but the most important thing for me was the way we fought until the end, the way the fans showed the support for us and that shows they are with us.

13🧵“We did a lot of things together, everyone getting together,” he said of the build-up.

17🧵“They have been with us all the way and we have to give (back) like this.”Scott McTominay (centre) is congratulated by team-mates after scoring the winner

19🧵The 24-year-old says he sees a lot of himself in the selfless, hardworking midfielder, who was linked with a summer move but stayed to fight for his place at his boyhood club.

22🧵“I don’t know what was in his head (over the summer), but I’m sure that once he decided that he has to stay I think he will give 100 per cent.

20🧵“When Scott comes in, with all the energy that he has, the mentality, that shows that we are a proper team and I’m very happy with the result,” Dalot said.

26🧵“Then, in five minutes, they turn around the game and win 2-1.

“We have to finish a counter or a set-piece to make it 2-0, that’s the only thing I would say we can do better.

24🧵While United went into the international break on a high, Brentford were left reeling from a last-gasp gut punch and even later knockout blow.

23🧵“Now we just have to help him to get along every day with us and be together as a team.”

1🧵Luis Suarez waves goodbye to Gremio... next stop Miami?

2🧵Luis Suárez will leave Gremio at the end of this year. Despite having a contract until 31 December 2024, the Uruguayan will finally say goodbye to the Brazilian club a few months earlier than planned.

4🧵"Luis Suarez will leave at the end of this year and will not stay with us. We will miss him because he is an irreplaceable player. I had the enormous privilege of being able to work with him," insisted the Brazilian coach.

7🧵And of course, seeing that Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Leo Messi, his former teammates at FC Barcelona, are in Miami, everything points to a reunion there.

8🧵In recent days there has been a lot of rumours about the possibility that the Uruguayan could terminate his contract with Gremio early to head to the United States and return to play with his friend Leo Messi.

9/9🧵For the moment, the former has been fulfilled and we will see what happens with the latter.

6🧵17 goals and 12 assists in 41 games played is the total balance of Suárez, who now, from January, will have to look for a new adventure.

27/27🧵“It’s nice to have a good performance but obviously we want the points.“Sometimes I don’t care if we play s***, as long as we get three points. We can turn it around together.”

1🧵Real Madrid long-term absentee ahead of schedule in injury recovery, could return as early as February

4🧵Since then, both players have undergone surgery to rectify the injury, followed by an extensive period of rehabilitation. In the case of Militao at least, this is going very well, to the point that he is ahead of schedule for a return.

6🧵His strength and flexibility has allowed him to be in a better position to return sooner, although Real Madrid will take zero risks when discussing a more precise return date.

3🧵Thibaut Courtois suffered an ACL injury in training, and he was followed by Eder Militao a few days later, with the Brazilian defender suffering the same fate in the opening match of the campaign against Athletic Club.

8🧵However, he will need time to return to match sharpness, so there’s no guarantee that he would be a regular starter right away.

7🧵It is more likely that Militao returns in March, in which case he would be back for the second leg of the last 16 stage of the Champions League, providing that Real Madrid make it out of their group.

3🧵Pau Victor and Marc Guiu have been called up to the matchday squad for Sunday’s match against Granada,

7🧵Victor is believed to be ahead of Guiu in the pecking order, so he has a realistic chance of making his Barcelona first team debut in the coming weeks,

1🧵Barcelona youngster backed to make big impression after first team call-up

8🧵with his first opportunity being against Granada. He certainly has the potential to take his chance.

2🧵Inter Miami were beaten 1-0 on Saturday night by Cincinnati in Florida, a defeat that means Messi's side are out of the play-offs for good.

3🧵A miracle had to happen for Inter to reach the next round as they were bottom of the standings when Messi arrrived. with Busquets and Alba. Mathematically, it was still possible, but unlikely.

4🧵Since his arrival, Inter in Miami have won just one of the six games in which Messi has missed through injury & lost just one of the 13 in which Messi has started, a record that demonstrates the Argentine's importance to the team already

5🧵Inter are out of the title race and Messi will soon begin a four-month long holiday.... four months! Yes. Leo Messi, once he's played the next two remaining MLS regular season games, won't be playing football again for a long time.

1🧵Gareth Southgate adamant on his role to protect Harry Maguire from abuse

6🧵He will only be seen in some of the friendlies that Argentina has scheduled during this time. The next season in the United States starts in February, at which point Messi should end his holiday.

7/7🧵The rest is a void for football because it will be without its most brilliant player. He could go on loan during these months... perhaps to Barça, but I don't think that is in the player's plans at the moment.

3🧵England's manager, who believes much of it has been driven by social media, made clear that he does not regret criticising the media for whipping up a storm that led to Scotland fans mocking Maguire at Hampden Park.

5🧵Southgate did not hide his feelings, calling the treatment of Maguire a “joke” and criticising the media for making it worse. The emotions were genuine.

4🧵Maguire, who has become a figure of fun since falling out of favour at Manchester United, has always had Southgate's support and he felt it again after briefly putting his side under pressure with an unfortunate own goal.

6🧵Southgate has refused to drop Maguire, even though he is yet to start a league game for United this season, & has named the centre-back in his squad for England's friendly against Australia on Friday and Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy

8🧵Maguire is one of the pictures they used driving in and he didn't play in the game. That is the sort of unconscious thing going on.

10🧵We have competition for places and we are looking at young centre-backs and different centre-backs. But at various moments as a coach your job is to protect your players.

9🧵“That is what I was trying to highlight. I had my say. It is done. He has been an important player for us, he still is an important player for us.

12🧵Therefore, commentators and pundits are going to come for me. But that wasn't important.

11🧵“You can talk to the group as a manager but your actions are going to speak louder. When I criticised I said commentators and pundits. I didn't put social media into that.

15🧵Southgate plans to visit Saudi Arabia to watch Jordan Henderson play for Al-Ettifaq. “His physical data is fine,” he said.

14🧵“As I said at the time I've not known something quite like this but we are where we are.”

17🧵“It is a situation we are tracking closely. I will go out and watch games. But we get all his games the same way we get everybody else's.

13🧵The important thing was the players – especially the ones who have been with us for a long time. They have known me long enough and at certain times need to feel that support.”

20🧵Southgate was asked whether Jude Bellingham, who scored a sensational goal during Real Madrid's win over Napoli on Tuesday, was the best player in the world at the moment. “It's not a stupid question,” he said.

19🧵But as time moves on, we'll get to more of the Milans, the Madrids and the Bayern Munichs, as well as out to see Hendo.”

23🧵He's currently the matchwinner for them so he's in a brilliant place.”

1🧵McTominay reveals he was inspired by Sir Alex & Beckham as he saves Man United

22🧵“I haven't seen everybody and studied everybody playing. All I can say is he's at one of the biggest clubs in the world, arguably the biggest, and he's playing exceptionally well.

4🧵‘Two goals at the death was incredible — that might be one of my favourite moments on a football pitch,’ said McTominay.

5🧵‘It’s hard to put into words because I’ve been at Man United my whole life, since I was five years old. For me, this football club means everything.

2🧵Scott McTominay came off the bench to score twice in injury-time and snatch an incredible win for Manchester United over Brentford as despair turned to utter delirium at Old Trafford.

7🧵McTominay revealed that he could not hear what manager Erik ten Hag told him on the touchline when he came on in the 87th minute. ‘It was very loud,’ he said.

3🧵McTominay revealed that he was inspired by David Beckham’s new Netflix documentary and memories of United’s late comebacks under Sir Alex Ferguson after his heroics in the victory.

11🧵’When there is the right price then every player has a price but he has a big value, sporting and also economic,’ said Ten Hag.

8🧵 ‘The fans were roaring us on so I couldn’t hear fully. He probably said something like “Go on and score” which is what I did.’

14🧵It transformed the mood inside Old Trafford and Ten Hag can now go into the international break with a little breathing space.

15🧵‘On the line you don’t have time to be in doubt, you have to think until the last minute how you can turn this,’ he said. ‘These games give fuel to the dressing room.’

13🧵United were heading for their third home defeat in a week until McTominay struck twice in seven minutes of added time.

17🧵Ten Hag added: ‘The players know how far they have to go to get results. It can’t be easy going. In football it is eat or get eaten.

19/19🧵Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: ‘Football is brutal in moments like this. I would probably still have been devastated if it was 1-1.’

2🧵There was intense speculation last week that FIFA’s decision to hand hosting rights to the 2030 World Cup to six nations across three continents will effectively mean the 2034 event will be a gimme for Saudi Arabia to host.

3🧵Now sources close to the corridors of power have told MailSport: ‘A Saudi World Cup in 2034 isn’t just likely, it’s basically a done deal. Money has talked again, and the event will be worth billions in new cash for FIFA.’

1🧵Saudi 2034 World Cup a 'done deal' after FIFA decide to give 2030 to 6 nations

4🧵In a surprise move last Wednesday, FIFA announced that Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will each host one of three opening games in the 2030 World Cup, 100 years after Uruguay hosted the inaugural World Cup.

5🧵And then Spain, Portugal and Morocco will share the other 101 games of a 104-game, 48-team tournament between them.

7🧵But most of the tournament will be played in a relatively small geographical area of south-west Europe and north-west Africa, in a time zone relatively convenient for much of the world.

9🧵And just as they were announcing this, Saudi Arabia confirmed they will bid for 2034. What a coincidence!

10🧵And Sheik Salman of Bahrain, the most powerful man in Asian football, then declared:

11🧵 ‘The entire Asian football family will stand united in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s momentous initiative, and we are committed to working closely with the global football family to ensure its success.’

8🧵The nation arguably most upset by these developments is Australia, because FIFA also announced the 2034 World Cup would be open to bidders from only Asia and Oceania.

12🧵This really annoyed Australia, who fall within the Asian confederation these days. They want to stage 2034 having staged a brilliant 2023 Women’s World Cup.

14/14🧵FIFA president Gianni Infantino is close to Saudi’s ruler Mohammed bin Salman, and no doubt looking forward to gazillions of dollars of Saudi money pouring into FIFA’s coffers in sponsorship deals in the coming years.

13🧵But Saudi Arabia will gain most of Asia’s 47 votes and all of Africa’s 54 votes.

1🧵Juventus 'keen to loan Sancho' in January if Man Utd 'pay half of his wages'

2🧵Juventus are keen to sign Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho in January, according to reports.

3🧵The 23-year-old has been banished to work on his own in the academy after falling out with Ten Hag by publicly challenging the manager's reasons for dropping him from the squad at Arsenal last month.

4🧵He still has not given Ten Hag the apology he is demanding and remains out of the Man United manager's first-team plans.

6🧵The Italian giants could then potentially sign the England international on a permanent deal next summer for £60m.

8🧵Sancho, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, has made just three sub appearances for United this season, but has not featured in the squad since his outburst.

7🧵Sancho was exiled from United training after claiming on social media that he had been a 'scapegoat' and effectively calling Ten Hag a liar following defeat at Arsenal.

9🧵With no resolution in sight, Ten Hag is becoming more and more frustrated at being quizzed on the player that is not in his thoughts.

10🧵The winger has managed just 12 goals and six assists from 82 games at United, putting his future at the club in real doubt heading towards the January transfer window.

11🧵In his absence, United have not fared well having lost to Brighton, Bayern Munich, Crystal Palace and Galatasaray in that period.

5🧵According to The Sun, Juventus want to sign Sancho on loan this winter if United agree to pay half of his £350,000-per-week wages.

12/12🧵But the Red Devils returned to winning ways against Brentford on Saturday thanks to an injury-time brace by Scott McTominay.

1🧵Manchester City will battle Real Madrid for Alphonso Davies in 2025

3🧵Los Blancos are planning a major move to sign a new left back, with 22-year-old Davies on their radar, ahead of a possible bid next summer.

6🧵Bayern remain confident they can convince the Canadian international to stay in Bavaria but he is rumoured to be looking for a new challenge.

5🧵His Bayern Munich contract expires in 2025, so if he does not sign a new deal by the end of the season, the German champions may cash in, to avoid losing him for nothing.

7🧵As per the latest update from Fichajes.net, Real Madrid are not the only team monitoring Davies, with Premier League champions Manchester City also assessing him.

8/8🧵Both sides would prefer a 2025 free transfer, but they could make an offer next summer, if Bayern opt to sell.

1🧵Arsenal can put an end to the dirty dozen against Man City if Rice the main man

2🧵If you want to be considered title contenders, you really should be able to beat your main rivals at least once in 15 attempts. And not lose to them 12 times in a row.

3🧵Alas, this is where Arsenal find themselves going into their game against Man City. The Gunners have not beaten City in the Premier League since 2015 and have lost the last dozen.

5🧵Rodri serves the final game of his three-game suspension, during which time City have lost the two games he’s missed.

4🧵Yet they will rarely have a better chance of ending that streak than today with City missing the key cog in their machine.

8🧵Since the start of the 2020-21 season, Rodri has touched the ball more than anyone else, played more passes than anyone else and — even though Man City have more of the ball than anyone else — won possession more than anyone else.

10🧵So, too, does Rice. Of all midfielders this season to touch the ball at least 400 times, only Rodri has given the ball away with a lower percentage of them than Rice.

11🧵Only six, including Rodri, have made more progressive carries than Rice while only four have played more forward passes while under pressure.

12/12🧵While City have lost five of 15 Premier League matches without Rodro, they have lost just five of their last 67 league games when he's played.

2🧵Pep Guardiola does not normally make a habit of supporting rival managers but he made an honourable exception for Mikel Arteta when his countryman was in danger of being sacked.

4🧵Sensing his friend and former colleague was in serious trouble, Guardiola used his post-match platform to launch a rare and impassioned defence of him by stating: ‘I know him perfectly and the quality he has.’

7🧵For the build-up, Guardiola has opened up for the first time about why he fought for his fellow Spaniard.

8🧵‘I remember the game [August 2021]. We started off quite equal and then, after one or two goals and Granit Xhaka was sent off, it wasn’t easy for Mikel,’ he says.

6🧵 Arsenal will overtake City in the table if they win Sunday's clash of the titans at the Emirates.

9🧵‘I am not usually here to defend colleagues, we respect each other but we’re not friends, but with Mikel it felt completely different.

5🧵The rest, as they say, is history. Arteta survived and is now arguably the biggest threat to Guardiola winning an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row.

10🧵‘We worked together here for three years with a lot of success. I was pretty convinced about him because I saw his ideas and how he communicated with players.

12🧵He replaced the old guard headed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a young and energetic team, fortified last summer by signings like £105million England midfielder Declan Rice, also a target for City.

11🧵’ Arteta has since proved Guardiola’s judgment right. From despair, Arsenal recovered to finish fifth in 2021-22 and last season were City’s closest challengers.

13🧵‘It is proof that when a club really believes in something and shows patience to the manager, it works,’ says Guardiola. ‘Sometimes you need time.

15🧵They trusted him and now the results are here as a consequence. Now, Arsenal have a manager for many years. He knows the club, he loves the club. It is impossible to get better than that.

17🧵Arteta was one of Guardiola’s first appointments at the Etihad in 2016. The apprentice watched and he learned, not only from the manager but his other high-class coaches like Rodolfo Borrell too.

18🧵He spent time carefully studying training sessions put on at the academy as well as the first team before becoming more influential.

19🧵However, Guardiola refutes the notion that he somehow created a mini-me in Arteta.

14🧵People at the top of the club always have to look at what is being built rather than relying on short-term results to make decisions.

22🧵‘People say he learned a lot from me, but I learned a lot from him as well. I bring in assistant coaches to teach me too.’

20🧵‘I see zero characteristics in him from me. We have a different mother and father. I dress better, I am more elegant,’ says the City boss with a smile.

21🧵 ‘All the success Mikel has belongs to him and his people at Arsenal. It’s definitely down to them, not me.

25🧵‘Bernardo is so important for us. He can play in many positions — last season he was left-back against Bukayo Saka

23🧵City face a test this afternoon. Their 100 per cent start to the season ended at Wolves last Saturday and they will again be without suspended midfield general Rodri, with Kevin De Bruyne also out with injury.

27🧵‘Phil has a free instinct as a footballer. He’s not a player who always makes good decisions when he has to think too much, more a bird who flies wherever he wants.

28🧵‘Sometimes there are duties and young players have steps they need to make. Rico Lewis has it immediately, but he doesn’t have the talent Phil has in other aspects.

29/29🧵Football is not copy and paste, everyone is different. That is what makes my job so fascinating.’

2🧵Jamie Carragher has cast doubts over Liverpool's ability to mount a considerable title threat in the Premier League this season, pinpointing two key holes in the side.

3🧵The former Liverpool stalwart spoke ahead of kick-off against Brighton on Sunday about their hopes to fight for the English crown, but suggested their lack of a top tier central midfielder and a defender will hamper them.

1🧵Carragher doubts Liverpool PL credentials as they lack a top central midfielder

4🧵It has been a promising start to the campaign for Jurgen Klopp's side, who suffered a first defeat in the league last weekend at Tottenham.

5🧵The game was contentious for a well-documented VAR blunder, which saw Luis Diaz's perfectly legitimate goal in the first half ruled out for offside, after a miscommunication between officials.

7🧵Yet Carragher remains unconvinced of their prospects this season, admitting it will be 'tough' for them to beat the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal to the top.

6🧵However the Reds have shown an improvement from the inconsistencies of last term, winning won five, drawn one and lost one of their seven games before Sunday's clash at the Amex Stadium.

9🧵'It might be something they go for next season when they can add a couple more additions as I think they really lack a top, top central midfield player who can sit in front of the back four and maybe a defender.

8🧵'Whether they can win the biggest trophy in terms of the Premier League, I think that will be tough,' he began.

10🧵'But I think those gaps will be plugged in the next two transfer windows and then they'll be better equipped for next season.

11🧵'I think the start to this season bodes well, and we'll see if they can mount a real challenge.'

12🧵Liverpool did invest heavily in central midfielders this summer, splashing a total of £146million on four players: Alexis Mac Allister (£35m), Dominik Szoboszlai (£60m), Wataru Endo (£16m) and Ryan Gravenberch (£35m).

14🧵Meanwhile Gravenberch and Endo have struggled to break into the first-team in the top-flight since their moves from Germany, but have appeared in the Europa League.

13🧵However they have still struggled for dominance in the middle of the park, with Mac Allister often deployed as the unofficial No 6, but often overpowered, with Szoboszlai positioned further up the pitch.

17🧵Liverpool are not short of central defenders, with captain Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez joined by Ibrahima Konate at the back.

16🧵Of those seven, six have come in the first half, with Joel Matip's second half own goal last week their only concession after the break in the Premier League this term.

1🧵Ousmane Dembélé met with Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2016

2🧵Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé (26) will make an emotional return to the Roazhon Park this Sunday night with the France international locking horns with his formative club: Stade Rennais.

3🧵L’Equipe have written a feature on Dembélé’s breakout years with Les Rouge et Noir. At only 18, the Evreux-born winger has taken Ligue 1 by storm during the 2015-16 season by logging twelve goals and five assists in only 26 games played,

4🧵including a match-winning hat trick before half-time against bitter rivals FC Nantes in the Breton derby.

5🧵The outlet understands that, before this season, Dembélé had visited the facilities at RB Salzburg when it transpired that then-Rennes manager Philippe Montanier would not rely on him.

6🧵Stade Rennais eventually turned down the €4m bid from the Austrian side.

8🧵However, Borussia Dortmund and Stade Rennais then agreed upon €15m pre-contract for Dembélé. The latter pushed for the move to the Bundesliga side to materialize.

10/10🧵Dembélé only spent one season with the Thomas Tuchel-led side before moving to Barcelona for a total package worth €135m.

7🧵After Dembélé had announced himself to Ligue 1 through his eye-catching performances, the player, accompanied by his agents, reportedly met with Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp in Paris with a view to bringing the talent to Anfield.

3🧵The South Korea international spoke to the broadcaster after Spurs' 1-0 win over Luton that took them to the top of the Premier League table.

2🧵Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has been praised as a 'class act' after gently placing his microphone on the table after a TNT Sports interview.

5🧵The adoration for Son came after the match, when he took immense care in placing the microphone down on the table to avoid damaging it.

4🧵It looked in doubt when they went down to 10 men on the stroke of half time with the scores level, But they held on after Micky van de Ven's goal to secure an important three points.

7🧵Even bitter rivals couldn't resist showing affection for the forward, with one Arsenal fan writing: 'Aside rivalries I love this guy, so cool and calm.'

10🧵The vibes have produced some excellent football as well, with Spurs unbeaten this season after six wins and two draws in the league.

9🧵It comes as part of a general feel-good respectful atmosphere brought to the North London club by new manager Ange Postecoglou, who asked his interviewers to 'enjoy the match' before the game.

11🧵They managed a gutsy draw against their North London rivals at the Emirates and beat an excellent Liverpool side, even if they were given a hand by VAR.

1🧵Peter Schmeichel insists Andre Onana's mistakes are 'upsetting the whole team'

2🧵Peter Schmeichel believes Andre Onana's poor start to life at Manchester United has begun to affect his team-mates as the Cameroonian's error-prone performances cost the Red Devils.

3🧵The former Inter stopper arrived from the Serie A giants for £43million over the summer, with last season's Golden Glove winner David de Gea allowed to leave on a free.

12🧵Spurs will next be in action after the international break when they face Fulham on Monday, October 23.

4🧵Despite Onana's footwork being lauded, he has come under much scrutiny for his performances with his hands.

5🧵Additionally, a poor pass against Galatasaray in midweek contributed to the Red Devils losing a second successive home game, and directly resulted in Brazil star Casemiro getting sent off.

8🧵'I'm trying to speak to him about what it's like being at Manchester United and why whatever [mistakes] you've made, you have to put it in a box and put it to the side.

9🧵 if you make a mistake in the game, it might be a mistake we can see, it might be a mistake that we don't see.

7🧵'I think a lot of that [Onana's mistakes] is pressure,' began Schmeichel. 'I spoke to him after Bayern. I spoke to him after Galatasaray as well and he was very down on the mistakes he made.

6🧵One man who knows a fair few things about playing in goal for United, Schmeichel, has claimed that the team are bound to start losing confidence at a greater rate in their goalkeeper.

11🧵'And now he's upset the whole team. They will now not trust him even more, and my god, it's not good.'

12🧵United narrowly avoided a third consecutive loss at Old Trafford, only for Scott McTominay to come to their aid in added time.

13🧵Mathias Jensen managed to get the Bees ahead in the 26th minute after his strike squirmed under the goalkeeper's arms as he dived to try and keep the effort out.

14🧵The under pressure Red Devils seemed destined for another setback, heaping further scrutiny on Onana and Erik ten Hag, before McTominay's arrival.

15🧵He netted twice in added time to complete a dramatic comeback in United's first home match since the passing of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson's wife, Lady Cathy.

2🧵Jude Bellingham offered his Real Madrid team-mates a scathing review of their dance moves on social media, before being roped into joining them next time.

4🧵Bellingham has seemingly settled in at Los Blancos just as well off the field as he has on it, forming a friendship with fellow young midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, as well as Vinicius Jnr.

3🧵The English wonderkid has been in imperious form for Real since his big-money arrival from Borussia Dortmund, netting 10 goals in 10 games, as well as providing three more assists.

7🧵But his team-mates were not having any of it, and quickly called him out for his own dancing abilities.

8🧵Camavinga wrote: 'Ahaha next time you have to show the world your dancing abilities!'

9🧵And Tchouameni chimed in with: 'He can't,' followed by a number of laughing emojis.

12🧵However the video posted of him and Camavinga celebrating the Brazilian's 65th-minute strike left a little to be desired, with both notably on different tempos.

15🧵Bellingham meanwhile has his own notable celebration which has become a sensation to match his talents.

16🧵Real fans have had plenty of time to get used to their new star's now iconic pose, standing with both hands held aloft over his head.

17🧵And he was twice on the scoresheet in the clash with Osasuna, a repeat of last season's Copa Del Rey final.

14🧵he may not have the dancing ability to match - although we will surely find out soon should his form continue.

18🧵The Basque side fell to a 4-0 defeat against Los Blancos, with the first two scored by Bellingham himself, and Joselu adding the final strike after Vinicius Jnr's finish.

1🧵Rooney's son Kai starts following several Birmingham City players on Instagram

19🧵Carlo Ancelotti's side kept hold of their place at the top of LaLiga, and will next be in action against Sevilla in a potential reunion with legend Sergio Ramos next week.

2🧵Kai Rooney might have given away his dad, Wayne's, next management position after it was spotted he had begun following Birmingham City players on Instagram.

4🧵Announcing the decision in America, Rooney said: 'I think it’s just the right time. I’ve done everything I can to try and get the club into the playoffs.

5🧵'It’s not been a single thing which has happened. It’s about timing in your career. I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I’ve had a lot of great help from the owners..

3🧵Rooney Snr confirmed he was leaving his post in charge of MLS side DC United and is now planning to move back to England to continue his coaching career.

7🧵The 37-year-old has been tipped with taking over at Birmingham with the club's current manager John Eustace being monitored by a host of Premier League clubs after a strong start to the season.

6🧵.I just feel like it’s the right time for me to back to England, first to obviously see my family.'

9🧵Rooney's eldest son, Kai, could be giving an indication that the Birmingham dugout is his dad's next location after following a host of first-team and academy players on social media.

8🧵Mail Sport reported in September that the former England captain was a possible target for Birmingham should Eustace ever leave.

11🧵Rooney is United's all-time leading goalscorer with 253 goals for the club, with Kai impressing in the club's youth ranks where he is often deployed as a striker as well.

12🧵The teenager's Instagram profile shows an increase in accounts followed with Birmingham players and the club's official account being tracked by Kai.

10🧵The 13-year-old is currently part of Manchester United's academy set-up and has been developing as a striker at his dad's former side who he earned legendary status at.

14🧵Kai is now following the social media accounts of the Birmingham men's and women's team, Gary Gardner, Marc Roberts, Neil Etheridge and other players.

13🧵Over 15 accounts of Birmingham players are now being followed and supporters believe this is an indication a change could soon be coming in the Birmingham technical area.

15🧵Birmingham supporters have been debating the topic on social media with many believing the online activity is a definitive suggestion Rooney could be on his way to Birmingham,

16/16🧵while others argue Kai could be moving from Man United to the Championship side.

2🧵Robbie Keane and Rory Delap have reportedly been forced to flee Israel following the attack by Hamas militants.

3🧵Keane is currently the manager of Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv with Delap working as his assistant.

5🧵Former Republic of Ireland striker Keane, 43, was appointed head coach of the Israeli Premier League side back in June.

6🧵His wife Claudine re-posted a club statement by Maccabi on her Instagram Stories and wrote: 'Stay safe everyone, I'm praying for you all.'

8🧵'Please listen to the instructions of security forces and stay safe. Together we will win.'

10🧵They have also won a couple of domestic cup games and successfully negotiated two qualifying rounds to reach the group phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

9🧵Keane and Delap have enjoyed success since they arrived. Maccabi sit top of the table five matches into the Israeli Premier League season, having won four, drawn one and lost none so far.

11🧵Having defeated the Icelandic team Breiðablik 3-2 in their group opener, Maccabi suffered a 2-0 defeat to Belgians Gent on Thursday.

12🧵They had been due to play away at Hapoel Jerusalem on Sunday but all football fixtures have been postponed following the attack on Saturday.

15🧵Palestinian officials said retaliatory Israeli air strikes had killed at least 313 people in the Gaza Strip with almost 2,000 wounded.

14🧵Reports said 300 Israeli civilians had been killed, and dozens more taken hostage, following the biggest escalation in decades.

13🧵Israeli forces were battling to regain control of territory taken by Hamas fighters on Saturday after they crossed over the border from Gaza in a surprise attack.

16🧵Israel's counter-offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip was well underway on Sunday morning following the deadliest day of violence in the region for 50 years.

17/17🧵Israeli warplanes bombed Gaza City in retaliatory strikes after Hamas's shock attack, while in the north artillery strikes were carried out in Lebanon after mortar fire from there directed towards Israeli territory.

1🧵Diogo Dalot calls for Man Utd to make their dramatic late win a 'turning point'

2🧵Diogo Dalot has called on his Manchester United team-mates to show their comeback win against Brentford is a ‘turning point’ and not a false dawn when they return from the international break.

4🧵Dalot made no secret of the fact that the frustration of the fans - there were jeers and some boos after defeats to Crystal Palace and Galatasaray -

3🧵Scott McTominay came off the bench to hit two goals in stoppage time to rescue what appeared three unlikely points for United, ensuring they did not lose three consecutive home games in all competitions for the first time since 1962.

6🧵‘I think it means a little bit more than three points for us after these last couple of weeks,’ the Portuguese full-back said.

7🧵‘I think the way that we won. Obviously I didn’t mind to score a few goals earlier than the 90 minutes but I think it shows we are here to fight, we are here to suffer together.

5🧵has weighed on players, but they must now use McTominay’s late show as a springboard to get their ailing season back on track.

9🧵That’s how it’s meant to be to be a Manchester United player and today I think was proof we can fight until the end.’

10🧵Brentford took a not-so-surprising lead through Mathias Jensen in the first half when a series of defensive errors was compounded by a poor save on the finish from Andre Onana.

11🧵At half-time Erik ten Hag called for calm and Dalot believes that game-plan to tire Brentford out eventually paid dividends.

13🧵 ‘At half-time we kept calm and listened to what the manager had to say, trying to change a few things and I think we did it.

12🧵‘When you win a game like this you get to the dressing room obviously excited and you could look at everybody and everybody… you could see that they gave everything,’ he said of the full-time celebrations.

14🧵We tried to find a little bit more space on the full-backs because I think the free space was there, and tried to switch the game a lot of times.

15🧵‘I think they were really tired at the end and that shows we played in their half, kept them running and when it is like that it’s very difficult to get to the end of the game without being tired and we kept fighting and fighting.

16🧵When Scott comes in, with all the energy that he has, the mentality, that shows that we are a proper team and I’m very happy with the result.’

17🧵United go into the international break sat in 10th in the Premier League table after four wins and four defeats from their opening eight league games.

18🧵They return to Premier League action away against Sheffield United on October 21 before a heavyweight Manchester Derby against rivals City at Old Trafford a week later.

19🧵‘The most important thing for me was the way we fought until the end, the way the fans showed the support for us and that shows they are with us,’ Dalot concluded.

1🧵A closer look at the numbers behind Bukayo Saka’s club-record run of appearances

2🧵Bukayo Saka’s club-record run of consecutive Premier League appearances ended as he missed Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City due to injury.

3🧵The England winger had played 87 successive top-flight games and here, the PA news agency looks at his record.

4🧵Key man

Bukayo Saka celebrates scoring against Nottingham Forest

5🧵Saka has four goals and two assists in seven Premier League appearances this season,

6🧵a total which could have been even higher had he not ceded penalty-taking duties to first Martin Odegaard and then Kai Havertz against Bournemouth last week.

7🧵Since he last missed a game, as an unused substitute against Newcastle on May 2, 2021, Saka has started all but four of Arsenal’s league games and come on as a substitute in the others.

9🧵He has 29 goals and 21 assists to his name in that time for a combined total of 50 in the 87 games.

10🧵That accounts for the vast majority of his 35 Premier League goals overall, in 142 total appearances, and includes reaching double figures in each of the last two seasons – with 11 and then 14 – as well as for assists (11) last term.

12🧵Passing Merson

Paul Merson is given a guard of honour for his benefit match in 1996, in the midst of his two-year run of consecutive league appearances

13🧵Paul Merson held the previous record with a run of 82 consecutive Arsenal appearances in the Premier League.

15🧵The two-time league champion – like Saka, an Arsenal academy product – scored 15 goals in that run, contributing to his career total of 99 in 425 Gunners appearances across all competitions.

14🧵Merson was ever-present for just over two years between defeats to Sheffield Wednesday on February 4, 1995 and Wimbledon on February 23, 1997, before sitting out the following week’s win over Everton.

16/16🧵Saka has 43 in 189 games overall and, aged just 22, has already surpassed Merson’s totals of 21 caps and three goals for England – how far can he go with the club?

5🧵Chelsea did finally create some sustained pressure in injury-time and with City down to eight players - as Alanna Kennedy was off the pitch injured - Reiten scrambled home a late equaliser.

4🧵City's rearguard stood firm but they suffered another blow when Lauren Hemp was also given her marching orders for a second booking - one of 12 yellow cards shown by referee Emily Heasilp.

1🧵Man City Women 1-1 Chelsea Women: Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp sent off but City almost repel WSL champions

6🧵How City almost pulled off the impossible…

City drew first blood inside seven minutes when Kelly's thumping strike from range took a deflection off Erin Cuthbert and flew into the net.

7🧵With City in complete control, the game burst into controversy when Greenwood was given a second yellow card.

9🧵The home supporters roundly booed the call and City's players lost their cool, which led to three yellow cards being shown for dissent to Kelly, Laia Aleixandri and Jill Roord.

10🧵Despite holding a player advantage, Chelsea lacked any sort of spark and rhythm in the final third as the second half wore on.

11🧵Hemp, who had already been cautioned for dissent, then hauled back Lauren James and was given an early bath, leaving Man City down to nine players.

14🧵Taylor: All we want is consistency from referees

Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor told BBC Sport: "For the endeavour, effort and togetherness we showed, I thought we were magnificent

15🧵I thought we were on the front foot in the first 15 minutes, I had a feeling that Chloe Kelly was going to score today. We overran them in the first few minutes.

13🧵A scramble ensued in stoppage time from a direct ball into the box. It led to Reiten being able to poke a finish through the legs of Yui Hasegawa to leave City's players floored.

8🧵She had been booked for a foul earlier in the first half and after taking 26 seconds to take a free-kick deep inside her own half, the referee decided a second caution was the worthy punishment.

16🧵"The red card for Alex changes everything. It's frustrating, particularly when we've gone from here to here in terms of dishing out yellow cards.

18🧵"Unfortunately, at the vital moment, we have Alanna Kennedy off the pitch. But I'm so proud of the players.

17🧵It's a difficult one to take, the girls were magnificent in terms of defending our box. I thought we dealt with everything.

12🧵James then crashed an effort against the crossbar as finally Chelsea started to lay siege to the Man City goal.

19🧵We played tremendously last week, and this was a different type of game. I was talking with Emma [Hayes] at the end and neither of us enjoyed that, it was a spoiler. We want to see consistency [in decision making]."

1🧵Real Madrid could be without key player for El Clasico showdown as suspension looms large

2🧵Real Madrid have been in excellent so far this season, and this is despite the issues they have had in central defence.

3🧵Eder Militao’s ACL injury left Carlo Ancelotti with just three senior centre-backs, but the situation has been managed fairly well so far.

5🧵The Austrian international is expected to return after the international break, and with El Clasico at the end of the month, this is excellent news for Real Madrid.

4🧵However, with Nacho Fernandez suspended and David Alaba injured, Aurelien Tchouameni filled in as a makeshift centre-back against Osasuna on Saturday.

7🧵Antonio Rudiger is on four yellow cards so far this season, and as reported by MD, he would miss El Clasico if he is booked against Sevilla in two weeks.

8🧵With Nacho already banned, that would leave Alaba as the only centre-back for the trip to Montjuic, so it would not be a surprise if Ancelotti chose to rest Rudiger against Sevilla so far he is available against Barcelona.

9/9🧵It remains to be seen how Ancelotti handles the situation, but the last thing that Real Madrid will want is to play a makeshift centre-back against their bitter rivals, even if Robert Lewandowski is missing.

6🧵However, even with Alaba set to return, Real Madrid’s central defensive problems don’t look like ending.

Washing plates is my worse of all chores.

This may be because, growing up at home, my siblings were the ones duty bound to wash plates. Now that I live on my own, i find it difficult to wash plates.

Dear friends.

@ngobaby and @josephdon211

its simple, employ me, just N100k monthly, your plates are washed 2

100k monthly?
Am motivated. If I can receive that amount, I may become a fan. 😀

dont worry, that's a chicken change for you, you are above

Cooking is one of my best...fetching water from long distance is my worse

I rather fetch water than wash plates.

I don't know how to cook., But I like helping out in the kitchen.

Wow!
Okay

Yeah.
Do you know your way around the kitchen?

I only do the dishes if am bored. Am not a fan.

I only do dishes when it becomes obvious that there is nothing that can be done to the situation.

I love washing clothes

What about plates?

Washing plate seems very simple and easy one for me and I do it sometimes also because my sister do the task most of the time.

I don't know why I hate it anyway.
But with incentives, am a fan 😀

hehe . We all have different opinions in each case. So I can understand you also.

It is bit by bit, you'll get there, try more and you'll be perfect at it

I don't just like it.
I see it as a sort of punishment.

Another $4.5billion for war support

idk how Americans feel about Biden rn. But I think that man is not making America great again.

I've seen majority of Americans don't like Biden (those who are on twitter)

I think things were more peaceful when they had trump. But I might be wrong because neither are good men but one is more a walk it talk it man. I bet Putin would’ve dared him if he was the one in charge back then

Yea, no war in his tenure wen he was elected.

No one is clearly good as it seems.. but some are better than worse one's.

I stand to believe that things would've been different for Americans if he was still in charge. Might not be that much better but it won't be this worse.

Israel has contributed to the world positively. I hope they get revenge for what happened to their people. Palestine has done nothing but chaos. And no chaos should be respected.

I don't choose sides. I choose humanity, both Israeli and Palestinian are both going to lose kids who just want to live, and there are better ways the US could make sure they don't have to escalate violence each time one side is wronged.

There will never be peace in middle east. Its thousands of years of struggle. Peace is always temporary as long as certain religion is concerned. Middle east was never peacecful. It's like a place where people are born to suffer.

You've said it all. But at the core of every religion peace and love has always been the main point however man have chosen to ignore that, and focus on what they can use to their own advantage.

The relationship between risks and returns on investments are directly related, the higher the risk, the higher the return and vice verse. Taking risks at an appropriate time is very Garmin.

the main part you forget to mention is "managing that high risk"

Risk management is most important aspect otherwise no high rewards imo.

Sure boss man, risk management processes such as risk identification, risk assessment, risk planning, and risk monitoring, are mostly very important, thanks for the hint.

Yea, Good to hear you know about these!

Keep it up mate.

Maybe consciousness is just a construct of a few people who overthink everything too much. Many cultures and languages don’t even have a word for it. Maybe it’s just taking ourselves too serious?! #thoughts

Banks have dominated finance all these years until BTC arrived. Consider why many have chosen crypto instead. #threadstorm #outreach

1/🧵

There are many reasons to choose crypto over bank. Banks censor customers by doing transactions on their behalf. If the authorities ask a bank to freeze customer assets, they will do it.

2/🧵

The cost of running a bank transaction is huge. Every transaction attracts a service charge which is debited from the customer funds. Many network fees make it difficult to receive exact amounts sent.

3/🧵

Crypto allows users full ownership of their assets. Crypto is censorship resistant. With web3 wallets, you maintain sovereign ownership of your assets.

4/🧵

Crypto transactions are fast, secure and feeless. Consider other reasons to choose crypto over bank. Click the link below:

oh well, Glad you found it.!

My friend, in turn, asked Google about it.
