One Month Done and Dusted - Powering up!

I spoke of my hopes that 2025 will be a watershed year, and yes, it is going to be if all goes well!

Humming and hawing for weeks on end, to the point of quietly debating with myself, thankfully not aloud, otherwise my staff would think I'd lost all my marbles!

Eventually, my neck and shoulders could not take the weight of all that any longer, and told me what to do;) Well, both those bodily parts do not have a voice, but it gives telltale signs that it is taking strain.

My mind is now made up, I will be selling and moving down the coast sometime this year, but there's a ton of stuff to get out of the way, so that is still some time off!

I've however set the ball rolling, and am selling the property as a going concern. A friend who works in real estate recommended a business broker who also is an estate agent. He is very impressed with the way my man made use of space, as well as the attention to detail, and excited at the potential for expansion.

We had thought of turning our games room into a third BnB unit, but we were starting to wind down, so decided not to pursue it. The room faces the pool area and would make a fabulous little staycation for any traveler.

Many other changes/improvements will cost very little and will bring in more income for new owners.

My dream is that our BnB which is turning ten in October, will flourish under new ownership to take it into the future.

Powering Up

I am so glad to say I've been able to stay in HODL'ing mode, even though estate expenses pop up occasionally, but thanks to good occupancy rates in my Lily's Cottage I did not have to dig into the liquid Hive I kept in my wallet for a little while.
The taxman however is still waiting in the wings with his beady eyes!

I was sitting with liquid Hive in the event that I would need to fill a gap but was able to power up 700 Hive in mid-January.

I further powered up 150 Hive today, so my Hive Power has grown from 24,000 HP on 1 January 2025 to 25,031 HP today.

I am super thankful to everyone who supports me here in Hive, in more ways than just votes!

What is Hive Power Up Day and why do we power up?

@hivebuzz has been encouraging Hivers to power up on the first day of every month, and this is what they say:

  • The first reason is to have fun and get a badge!
  • Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
  • Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
  • Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
  • Finally, several amazing members are offering prizes that include delegations, Hive giveaways, and other cool stuff to the Hive PUD participants.

I know I've said it before, but I truly hope 2025 will be the year that all your dreams will come true!
Above all, may it be a year filled with good things for all of us!

It feels good when you can finally make up your mind on a very big decision.

I did wonder as you talked about it before, if you would be trying to move closer to where your son is now. Either way, I hope wherever you choose will feel like a safer place overall.

Lots of work ahead !

Lots of work ahead !

For sure Jacey!
I've never moved after getting married, believe it or not😉
I won't be closer to my youngest but can still visit. He'll definitely visit a lot because it's close to the beach. But a lot to still be done before that can happen!
My oldest son is across the waters, I can still visit them.
It will definitely be safer as well.
Thank you for popping in.🤗

It's not an easy job giving up one's life work. I know what you and Authur put into the BnB, I hope the right people come aling and continue with the love and kindness you have.
I think you've made the right move.
I'm sure you'll be happy down the coast @lizelle. I wish we had made that move.
Love you stacks my friend, see you soon.

It's not going to be easy but I need to do it while I'm capable, and enjoy all the facilities. You can come visit there🤗
Look forward to seeing you when you get back. Enjoy Cape Town ❤️

Thank you my friend, one right back to you <3

Hey! So glad to hear you've reached a conclusion that you're happy with, my dear friend <3 I hope it all goes your way and that moving isn't more of a hassle than it needs to be! I think the new owners would be damn foolish not to appreciate that lovely, beautiful space...

Congrats on the 15k! :)

Thank you sweet @honeydue, it's quite daunting - what to keep and what to get rid of. I'll just take it day by day!
At least I'll be minimizing big time🤗

Good evening my brother. Greetings to you. ❤️

Thank you, have a great Saturday

You're welcome. Thanks to you too.
