Just wanted to update you on the work being done currently.
I was looking at our presently available materials for Hive direct marketing and I found them to be quite lacking. Sure, we have Hive.io, but you all know my opinion on that by now.
We dont really have anything easy to understand and comprehensive that people can share with those they want to onboard.
I decided to go ahead and create, what is basically a press kit. Theres 2 sides of this.
- A physical press kit to send out to publications, personalities, TV stations, via snail mail. It could work if presented nicely and in a time when publications and TV stations receive hundreds of emails daily, snail mail might grab the attention more easily.
The kit would have:
- A brochure.
- A USB stick with the digital equivalent
- A free Hive account
- A business card
- Maybe some small gift. Maybe a pencil, fridge magnet. Something less lame probably. lol. Will see.
It should look something like this but smaller ofc. 30x30cm, 30x40cm.
I talked to the print shop on monday and it should basically cost a few hundred dollars to get a 100 of these. I still need to talk to the manufacturer of the boxes tomorrow.
These will be shipped out to Hivers that want to have one of these at home.
- And theres the digital press kit. What it will show is the Hive colors, just like the physical one. It will have a timeline of milestones that show, total accounts, Hive creation date, total posts, total payouts, Major Hardforks, etc. Some basic information about Hive, goals we want to achieve, etc.
The digital version will be available to download.
Thats about it for the new news. Im still looking into new youtubers, the new article from Cryptonews will go up in a few weeks.
The materials for the documentary, a poster and some other stuff will be done soon. We will be making a website with those materials as well. The scenario is being written as we speak.

Fantastic brainstorming! I agree that a snail mail press kit would be much more impressive, especially if it is in a sleek package like the one above.
Before proceeding with production, perhaps it would be a good idea to brainstorm further and make a list of media/news, podcasters, Youtubers etc to send it to.
Also, is there any estimate on total shipping costs? I think that would likely be around half the total cost or more, shipping adds up quickly. It would be better to ship in a box so that it doesnt get all smashed up on the way there, that would kill the presentation and really hurt the wow factor and novelty. That could make it a bit expensive, though.
And yes, a list of the milestones and history, current stats, and future goals is a good idea to give them a brief introduction and show them that the network is plenty active with a great community.
I went ahead and followed you because I want to see this project succeed, and would like to make a donation once the costs are figured out and tallied up. Is there any way on HIVE to get notifications or a special subscription for a specific user? I just dont want to miss the updates if it takes a while and perhaps I have forgotten about it.
Also, I think some folks would like to get some of these as collectibles, perhaps you could put them on sale to Hivers, and use the funds to finance the production and shipping costs of the press kits to the media. Just an idea, might be easier than collecting the donations for it, but whatever you feel is best.
Thank you for all of your time and hard work! BTW once the text is done I would be happy to proofread it if you like, just to have another pair of eyes to double check for small errors or optimizations if nothing else. But no worries either way, I am rooting for this to be a massive success!

good idea. it 's like an expensive gift that can 't be refused and even somehow inconvenient , but there should be high quality materials . you really need to think everything through . I hope you will succeed and I do not even doubt that 😉👌

We are trying to make it easier to get more people involved in whatever marketing efforts people are doing.

People are using #marketing, but its being used generally for other marketing as well. I'm hoping to narrow that down more to #hivemarketing efforts so that we can get a stream that people could follow in an effort to get more participation with Hive Marketing efforts.

I agree 100%, I hope the community will come together and help with some of the costs. I am going to be following this project, we will see what the total costs are, and then go from there.
