Concept: March 26, 2025. Difference Between WRAP and BRIDGE in Crypto

Picture Steemit SteemLeo World Finance.jpg

Wrapping involves creating a tokenized version of an asset on a different blockchain, like Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) on Ethereum. The original asset is locked, and the wrapped version is issued on another blockchain.

Bridging connects two blockchains directly, allowing assets to be transferred between them. Instead of creating a tokenized version, the original asset is typically locked on one chain, and an equivalent asset is minted on the other chain. The bridge ensures the transfer happens across chains.

So, while wrapping creates a token for use on another blockchain, bridging facilitates direct transfer between blockchains without creating a new token.

Hi, I was attracted to your firm disclaimer.

However, I can't deny that you have taught me something new today. Particularly interesting to me is the bridge definition for a coin I own once talked of things like bridging with Hive years back, but I didn't quite understand it.

Talking of a coin years back, may I present to you the Pi coin, I came into it same year I came into Hive and did a blog on it years back. Today it has over 60 million users...you can check it out here on BEYOND BITCOIN.

Cheers
