Well, I've not done this in a really long time. But, I did manage to fix my credit score myself, without paying a single person.
I'm sure you can look it up. But in a general sense, it went like this.
- There's a website that allows a free annual credit report
- using this website I disputed all the issues
- requested copies of contracts, to prove I owed the money
- By not responding (most of them didn't) I won the disputes
My credit is shit again, but that's another story. I don't have credit cards and may not get one again.
That's a fabulous tactic that I was not expecting to hear.
I might look into it a bit but I don't think that will be necessary...
Especially considering all the disputes are with the Department of Education there's a much higher chance this strat would not work, but still very valuable knowledge nonetheless.
