Today, SPS that's SplinterlandsShards are returning APR of 19% when staked.

That's a big decline in APR from a year ago. And it's reflective of a much bigger decline in SPS value.

Remember SPS was kicking near a dollar but now it's at $0.02 and still dropping. Look at the chart above, this isn't a coin/crypto/token that's bouncing around with the regular cypto market. It's all bear, all the time now.
Is there an alternative? HBD, Hive backed dollars, is throwing off 20% APR on a consistent basis.

So does SPS have any future bounce? Consider that pretty much the only Splinterlands reward, that can be cashed our or traded, from playing the game is SPS so inflation is taking its toll. If you are setting on a chunk of SPS, the question is it time to dump and buy HBD or is there some redeeming reason to continue to HODL?

Good to see you again! I've been disappointed with SPS lately as well, the inflation is just tanking the price. I'm not sure the new staking requirements will really help either although now people will have to rent SPS to get maximal rewards if they aren't at the stated level. But I doubt renting SPS will make much money just like renting cards doesn't pay well anymore either. I'm still looking at options but nothing has really convinced me to jump on board. HBD isn't a bad option overall.
Or keep it in the Splinterlands family and transfer it to GLX staking which is currently at 95% ROI
It might be time to switch to Genesis League. Another idea that I have is to move it into Chaos packs which are down to $1.16. That's the lowest that I have ever seen and since Chaos is out of production, I think it may have more HODL value than SPS.
Would be concerned that these will go even lower when rebellion is released. Genesis League packs are quite cheap on Hive Engine right now. They are only going to increase in value I would say. Also GLGT are also interesting as they are the voucher version of Genesis League and at the moment they are only 1 cent
That's a really good point. I hadn't considered that another card drop will push down Chaos values. I see the GL packs are at $2.20. I will keep watching them, that may be the way to go. Once the game comes live, there might be a spike in value.
Welcome back dear. As we all know that the bear market is running and it is very difficult to up anything in it because people don't invest their money at all because of fear. As the bull market comes in we will see that money will start coming into the projects and their prices will also start going up.
