In recent time, the demand for eggs and meat production have really speak well of the business potentiality in Nigeria. The kudos behind Poultry farming business growth and its potentiality should go to the former immediate President of Nigeria in person of President Mohammed Buhari, who closed borders on importation of eggs and chicken meat products.
.....the closure of borders was what gave the Poultry farming business wide market potential.
After the closure of borders by the then former President on some imported goods (both eggs and chicken meat products included). It was this move that gave about the growth and development of the Poultry farming business giving the home base products on eggs and chicken meat products to get a go.
Furthermore, but then when the business started growing at speedy rate, while the demand was out running the supply, then this encouraged people to fall into the business at high rate including myself. The market demand and supply of eggs and chicken meat products might not be at the rate but they are almost at per in fact with only the home base of eggs and chicken meat productions.
Finally, the only period I can categorically say that the demand doesn't always meet supply is when the festive periods (Christmas and new year) are around. Most Farmers tend to keep their birds with the hope to sell live weight for the festive season.
