Writers block.jfif

Hey everyone,

Admittedly I am in a bit of a writer's block today. I figured that rather than dump out a crap article, I would engage the community a bit.

Let's do a little contest, and in honor of my frustrating writers block let's make it about that.

Win 50 LEO DELEGATION!

The Contest:

Leave a comment on this post telling me the best way to solve writers block.

Inspire me with your creativity. What is your routine for solving writers block? Give some tips for new writers. How do we overcome the frustration of not knowing what to post?

Let's make this post a nice reference sheet for those getting writers block when trying to generate content here on Hive and in the Leo ecosystem.

The Rules:

  • The winner will receive a delegation of 50 Leo for one month.
  • The contest will run until this post pays out (1 week)
  • Only comments will count as entries in this contest
  • If you win and don't want the delegation you may choose any user to get it

I look forward to hearing from all of you and really am happy I am in a position to give a small delegation to help the winner grow their account and influence.

There are few ways to overcome writer's block.
1.Make a list of topics to write on each day, but can compromise if another urgent writing is demanded.

2.Settle on writing one topic each day, don't put burden with goals of writing 2 and above post a day.

3.Hang around friends who are blogging, their interest in writing may revive you from boredomness.

These are very great tips, thank you for sharing I will take them to heart

I'd like to know a solution to the writers block aswell.
For me it just helps if life is moving slower.
Currently I got exams coming to finish my school, so I don't find time or energy to write.
But in the summer I have so much extra time and I just start writing out of boredom.

Understandable, I'm personally very much over school. Wishing for it to end soon

First of all there is no such thing as a writers block. That is what you have to convince your mind of.
The block is not on the white blank paper in front of you or the blinking cursor on the empty screen (thanks dev´s for the dark mode). – No it is in your mind and the easiest way to fight it is to write a letter to your block in your mind.
Also going for a walk or laughing eases up this knot of thoughts in your brain.
Try to reproduce laughing if you are not able to laugh. You will start laughing eventually.
Smash something. Helps. Proven. Be careful do not harm yourself or others. Do not destroy others property. But smash something.
Drink!
Smoke!
Drink and Smoke! (don´t drive!)

There is plenty of ways to ease the knot in your mind! You just have to ant it.

These recommendations brought a smile to my face. This was great! Thank you

All you need is a little space and a little time.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You are likely quite correct with this statement

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Oh! Well, I think you just need some little time away from creating. Free your mind of the pressure to create. Basically take a break from creating. Engaging in other activities you'd love to try out. By doing so, when you finally settle back to create, your mind would be set to receive new inspiration. I hope it helps 😊

Taking a break seems like the cure for everything honestly

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

😂😂 Its wonderfully amazing how the cure appears cheap that a lot miss paying attention to it.

I've started writing in 1995 and hadn't stopped except for the periods when I needed to travel or enjoy 1-2 months of health recovery in peace and treatment.

This answer goes to all of you who need it and with an appreciation for @rod23 for launching this topic for us.

Here is what I know:

It is absolutely natural for a person to encounter a deadlock in his career, especially when it comes to bloggers. Such a blockage makes it difficult to meet deadlines and also affects performance. The ability to manage a writing block is essential for any writer, whether we are talking about novelists, bloggers, or copywriters.
There are several strategies you can use to avoid such blockages and to overcome them if you feel you are stuck in a blockage. Here are my tips, according to methods I practice individually.

Take a break. When you're working on content for a long time, it's normal to feel stuck and can't find your words. A break will help clear your mind. Maybe you would like a long walk or maybe you want to detach yourself from writing by dealing with some relaxing or practical tasks. In other words, at least for an hour, you don't think about writing. When you return to writing, you will surely feel refreshed and inspired. Try to de-focus from any frustrating feeling during this time.

Write with passion. You are a whole universe of experiences and ideas! Certainly, if you let yourself dream and let your ideas fly, you will write an extraordinary text. In Disney's strategy for creativity, the Dreamer is the one who brings the ideas to the forefront. It's OK to become a Realist and arrange those ideas. But, in the end, it all comes by to what genuinely you want to offer to your readers. Don't just write about specific topics because others are getting voted and they have engagement mentioning them. Just find your place in Hive and even in Leo and I am sure every idea that you might have has a good place here and it will find its audience. Make it meaningful for you and for others!

Don't edit so often. Very often, writers' block their own creativity because they have a habit of editing while writing. Editing is very important, but if you stop writing to edit each line or each sentence, you will put your own sticks in the wheels. When writing, write down anything that comes to mind, all your thoughts, expressions, and words, and only edit when you think you're done writing, at least for that day. Some use to call this "stream of consciousness". I call it a natural, aligned writers' flaw. It that moment when you allow ideas to fly freely in raw content, a draft that you can edit after you would have finished.

Make some changes to your work environment. It is very possible that the environment in which you write is the cause of distraction, anxiety, lack of inspiration, and blockage. By making some small changes, you have a very good chance of regaining your creativity. Also, set aside all sources of distraction, including your phone and TV. If you have too many items on your desk, make more room. If there are clothes on the chair, store them in the closet. Sometimes minimalism can work wonders. Natural light is also very helpful, as is a fragrance diffuser. Try to figure out what those small changes might be.

Maybe it would help you create a commitment to yourself that you will write a certain number of words each day. It can be a whole page, 500 words or any other number of words. The important thing is to write, not to create the perfect prose. The act of writing can be awkward for beginning writers, but as you write, you may find that you are eager to continue. Simply engaging in an activity can help you overcome any resistance, especially when you don't set your expectations.

With friendship and respect for all of you,
@regenerette

Fantastically crafted response! I really appreciate not only your advice, but your enthusiasm and effort for the topic. It feels clear who the winner will be at the end of this contest as of now!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I thought I might be writing to much.

Doing something just simple and fun helps. Try not to think about it and let your mind think of something naturally helps. Do some reviews on somthing simple. Like i once did a product review about a dog toy called a chuck a duck. Have some fun and it will come.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I like that mindset, that toy also sounds super funny. Great tips thank you!

Nice one broo! Today, I almost got hit as well but somehow managed through. This is what I do to come out of it:

I read or go out for a walk to get some fresh air. I think it happens with everyone at some point in time. You gotta find your own creative ways to go around it just like you did with this post.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It happens to us all! Thank you for the kind words
