Give us this day, our daily #thread! Day 2

I want to read the #bible more. I feel there is a lot of wisdom in those pages and as I dive further into the word of God my relationship with #jesus grows deeper. This is my journal open for all!

Oh, thanks for reminding me that we need such spiritual light at least on a daily basis.

  1. Romans 3: Paul reminds me of Vizzini from the Princess Bride! Spends a lot of the chapter assuming questions from the audience and addressing them.
  1. One of my favorites is Romans 3:5-8 which is basically if I am evil so good may come, can I just be chalked up as one of the good guys? Short answer is no because God will use you for his will if your on board or not. I serve willingly.
  1. Romans 3:9 begins to explain there is no who is righteous, does good, follows god and doesn't stray, ect. This was another point of contention when I was fighting to accept God. I felt I was a good man and most people would agree.
  1. The problem was the standard of comparison and that's the world. The world standard is flawed and validation of other humans is fleeting and superficial. Chasing over and over the admiration of my peers to constantly feel value and love!
  1. I can easily look at my life now and understand what a sinful heart is, does, and longs for. Even today, with Jesus Christ, my sinful heart remains BUT his love for me, my value, and my purpose are undetermined by my actions.
  1. Romans 3 ends by explaining how we are righteous by faith. That faith is rooted in Jesus Christ who took my place and bore my sins before the Father in Heaven so that I may walk the earth without guilt or shame and serve His will.
