Morning or afternoon everyone ….
Today was our first full day here. Although it’s technically our second as you are reading this post. I’m a day behind, writing my posts at night and scheduling them to post while we are out and about.
We decided to hit the Hoover Dam today. I have visited this once before, but it was many many years ago. Over twenty years to be accurate.
There is way too much to write about the Hoover Dam. Which by the way should actually be one of the wonders of the world. Since it was constructed pretty much entirely by hand. The engineering of such a piece in the early 1900’s is nothing short of a masterpiece.
Here is a little info from Wikipedia:
The Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. Constructed between 1931 and 1936, during the Great Depression, it was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over 100 lives. Bills passed by Congress during its construction referred to it as Hoover Dam (after President Herbert Hoover), but the Roosevelt administration named it Boulder Dam. In 1947, Congress restored the name Hoover Dam.
This is a picture of Lake Mead which flows into the Hoover Dam.
As you can see it was a gorgeous day out.

It's crazy to think that the main road through there used to pass right over it before they built that bridge. We drove over to the to parking lot that kind of dead ends and then we had to turn around and go back.
Sweet. I toured the dam once. Went down to the bottom. It's pretty impressive, especially when you think if the era.

I have created the same routine myself. I also create posts late at night in peace. So it is a fact that all of us have to select a special and interesting place to hang out and then spend some time of our lives there peacefully. Then we will be able to relax a little in our lives.
Sure looks a nice day and the hoover dam is amazing isn't it
