Do you have an exit strategy?

An exit strategy is a contingency plan executed by an investor, venture capitalist, or business owner to liquidate a position in a financial asset or dispose of tangible business assets once predetermined criteria have been met or exceeded. Source

Make sure you have an exit strategy in place before you purchase even a single ounce of silver or gold. You exit strategy should be able to help you define what you should stack.

If you get your silver from a Local Coin Shop, your exit strategy might be to simply return there and sell it to them after a few years. Now, if you ordered your silver or gold from an online dealer, you could mail it back to the online dealer down the road.

However, if you purchase a large number of random, enjoyable, interesting, collectible silver items without any idea of how you would sell them later, you should give the question significant consideration because you will probably have to sell each piece separately.

If you took it to a local coin shop, you would likely receive close to spot price for each and every ounce of the enjoyable silver collectible even if you paid a lot of high premiums for them.

It may be acceptable to sell each collectible separately on Ebay as your exit strategy for all of these items. But it will be a hassle for most individuals who understand. There are Ebay fees, Paypal fees, and shipping to take into account, if you have never sold on eBay before.

Also, selling every ounce can take a while. Be aware of that as well. Having a collection of random silver collectibles can prevent you from selling your silver quickly if you need to.

Therefore, purchasing bullion when stacking is a very wise decision. If you can, try to purchase low premium silver coins, rounds, and bars as these will be more liquid and much simpler to sell in the future.
