did you know, that you have potentially free money laying around you were even not aware of?
BLURT, a new (but rather poorly communicated) Steem fork, did recently an airdrop to all Steem users as of a cutoff date some weeks ago, which means that even people who powered down 100% of their Steem (like me) got some free BLURT. In my case it was app. 20500 BLURT, staked to BLURT Power.
All you need to do is first power down to liquidify that BP (which I had started some days ago).
At https://blurtwallet.com/ you can check how many BLURTs you have been airdropped and also start your power down (it will take at least 13 weeks).
Next step is to find an exchange where you can sell the BLURTs.
I found Ionomy, in fact @ionomy even recently announced here their listing of BLURT. It is not the best exchange with quite a low volume, but for smaller trades it is not that bad.
In ionomy, go to wallets, and when you found the BLURT wallet, click on this "deposit" symbol:
A window with the deposit information pops up. As always, when you transfer Coins to an exchange account, don´t forget to use the provided memo for the BLURT transfer.
After you copied the memo, go back to https://blurtwallet.com/ and enter the memo in the memo field and use also the correct receiver (in this case "ionomy", the @ is already provided)
You have to confirm the transfer with your active STEEM key!
Once the BLURT are on the exchange, you can sell them by entering the amount and the price
If you want to sell them right away, pick as price the highest bid price (in this case 0,00000308 BTC, app.0,028$), if you think you can get more for your BLURT or you don´t need them fast, then take a higher one and wait until the order gets filled.
In total I could sell my first power down batch of 1588 BLURT for 0,00489 BTC, app. 45$.
Finally, send the BTC to a safe wallet or - even better - buy some Hive for it!
I just did it on Ionomy (the Hive price is not that different compared to a big exchange (app. 1$ per 300 Hive bought), so for that little volume it was not worth to send the BTC around).
In summary, for 1588 BLURT I could get 209 Hive which I sent to my Hive wallet and powered up!

There's a couple of buy orders for Blurt at 245 Satoshi's, it looks like Steemit in the early days with terrible content. I dumped my first lot yesterday. Not a second too late.

Also in case you or others do not know, you will need to have some liquid blurt to make the transaction, everything cost on blurt. Wallet withdrawals, posting, voting commenting. so make sure you have some and leave some liquid blurt for any actions you want to make on blurt.
Indeed, after the transaction it must not be 0, otherwise you get the transaction error others have seen.

Should be the same like with other transactions that don´t use keychain. So far my funds were not stolen :)
Btw, if you don't want to use blurtwallet.com (because you have security concers or whatever) and are a bit tech-savvy you can use holgers beem to access your wallet. I used this script here:
I had to sell some Hive to get enough Blurt to be able to power down my Blurt Power... lol... I hope value of Blurt doesn't crash, so when powering down on Blurt finishes, I can buy back my Hive or at least withdraw the coins as LTC (withdraw fee for BTC and ETH are crazy high on ionomy).
I've sold my first batch of Blurt. I can't see any good reason to sure the platform. Lack of downvotes will mean lots of spam.

You don´t have to wait the whole period, each week a fraction is powered down, so you can sell in a staggered approach. Is probably also better. Who knows what the BLURT price will be in 13 weeks.
Value of BLURT will depend on how many of the remaining bugs in the code will be fixed and if all the connectivity issues will be fixed.

I tried powering down but got a broadcast error with numerous try. And same when I tried to transfer the liquid blurt to ionomy
Maybe you were not logged in with your right Steem key.
Alright, let me confirm that
Broadcast errors are usually caused by Steem extensions interfering with Blurt when running in non-incognito window... Other possible, newbie reason, is that you don't have enough balance to pay the transaction fees.
I think it's the interference, I have about 4 dollar there, so I expect it's enough to settle a bill. Thanks for the response friend
It's quite easy to use Blurt in incognito window... After I figured out all the Steem extensions were interfering with Blurt, I have used Blurt always in incognito window. Maybe one day the Blurt developers will fix the issue...
I will try carrying out the transaction on incognito mode and see if it will work for me that way too
Try leaving 0.001 liquid blurt behind. I think that is the current fee for doing transactions. So transfer how ever much you want but leave a very small amount, 0.050 blurt in case you want to do something else on blurt or stop or stop a future power down.

If it is staked, then yes, you need to power down. Only unstaked BLURT can be sent. Check that you use your active Steem key for this operation.

Yes they do need liquid blurt to power down. Blurt charges a fee for everything. Last I looked the fee was 0.001 blurt to do anything, higher for bandwidth use. Unless they changed that in the last three days, liquid blurt is needed to power down.

Letzte Woche war ich krank und konnte die Transaktionen nicht durchführen, aber ich mag es nicht, die Dinge auf halbem Wege stehen zu lassen. Auch wenn es schon spät ist, bringe ich hier also mein kleines Power Up in Hive, das Produkt der ersten beiden Wochen von Power Down in Blurt.
Übrigens hat Ionomy jetzt dass Fee auf 1 Hive erhöht.
