I remember the first time I actually put up a post on Leo. I was asking so many questions from Nathanmars (wonder where he is now) and how to go about it. I am a visual artist, so when it comes to writing, I am not very good at it, talk more of financial content. In my head, I thought; "definitely for experts". Eventually, I realized, you have to do it and keep learning and getting better at it. Today, I thought I'd share a couple of tips that have helped me, and I reckon would help anyone trying to write more content on Leo. So let's get to it.

  • Make Research - This is the most important thing for every new person to know. People always neglect this part of the grind as it feels like a lot of work, but it is the most important. Chances are that the blog you put up has a few inaccuracies that a simple Google search would solve. It is kinda like the popular DYOR (Do Your Own Research) term in the crypto space. Always research and learn more about your subject before penning down.

  • Understand the subject - It's the weirdest when you see people write about a topic they have absolutely no clue about. I mean, how are you even doing that? At least a certain level of understanding of the subject matter makes it easier for you to formulate your own theories and personalize your writing. It also translates to doing research but unlike researching, having a deeper and more personal understanding of the subject helps.

  • Cite your Source - We all know how bad it is to plagiarise information without giving credit. Listen, You're not a guru. You're not taskmaster or edicted (forgive me guys, lol). Nobody expects you to know it all, but everybody expects you to put the written author as a reference from where said information was gotten. It's easier than you think, and it gives your work some authenticity.

  • Take Feedback and constructive criticisms - If there is one thing I have seen in the Leo community is that there are always people ready to point you in the right direction. Maybe when you quoted a wrong fact or figure. Or just misinformation? This feedback usually comes with further help, and looking out for them and adopting them would be super helpful for you.

Well, thank you for reading. Obviously, this is by no means exhaustive, but I am sure these tips would make a world of difference to your writing here if taken seriously. Do drop in the comment if there is anything else to add. Cheers.
